It's such an awesome feeling to know some of what's coming yet still being absolutely surprised by how differently it hits in the anime. I love that the world feels super familiar AND brand new at the same time.

Seeing Syrup Village in the anime gave everything a lot more room to breathe. The woods, the humble village, the shore. Kuro felt much darker and more unsettling here.. He was dangerous and disturbing in the live action, but in the anime his manipulation of Kaya and the slow cruelty of his plan felt way worse. It made me appreciate Kaya's strength even more. She isn't just someone in need of rescue. She's also someone surviving emotional warfare that will be with her forever.Usopp continues to grow on me so much. He hides behind his jokes and elaborate lies, but underneath it all is a heart so desperate to be brave. To be useful. To be enough for his Father to come back to. Watching him rise to the moment hit me in all the feels.The crew's unhinged chemistry is so much fun to watch. Seeing their anime roots is so satisfying. Luffy's wild faith in people, Zoro's silent loyalty, Nami's guarded sharpness. It's all there. Just in a different, more intense flavor.And now we're about to meet Sanji 👀😍I love how much more time the anime gives me with the crew and the world. The silliness, the emotional beats, the reactions between them. The live action made me care, but the anime is letting me linger for longer. Really soak in the adventure, side quests and all.
