I love Swordsmith Village arc so far! I feel like since Mugen train, Demon Slayer has had this art of blending beauty with dread. These episodes definitely reminded me of that immediately. One moment I'm smiling at the chaos, the strange personalities, and Tanjiro just being Tanjiro. The next I'm gripping my chair because danger is already breathing down everyone's necks.Seeing Tanjiro continue to move through the world with so much compassion and kindness after everything he's been through always gets me. He never feels hardened in a cold way. Somehow, he's even warmer, stronger and more determined than ever. That kind of heart is so rare.Muichiro has me so intrigued.. There's something super distant and foggy about him (which is actually very fitting hahah) but you can just tell there's somethign more going on underneath. I was really put off by him at first, but then I realized... Every word from him feels like it matters. Even when is detached and not present. And Mitsuri! I absolutely LOVE her. She feels like a burst of sunlight and immediately lights up every room she enters. She is so vibrant, warm, and strong all at once. I already looove the contrast between the Hashira in this arc.And of course.. The Upper rank demons. What an entry into the village 👀It reminded me that even though our heroes are growing, the monsters are too.And they're trying to do anything to impress their master.Who is pissed. It makes the stakes feel that much higher now. This doesn't feel like small battles here and there anymore. This is IT.I absolutely LOVE the way Demon Slayer has upped the animation from the very first season, still. Even in super quiet scenes, everything feels alive. The colors, the movements, the tension in the air. It's all done so beautifully in every way. These first four episodes weren't messing around.I'm leaving them feeling nervous, excited, and completely locked in.This arc feels like it's going to touch on so much. Mystery, lineage, memories, chaos.I can't wait for more!Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/g-f99wDKRx0I watched this on Crunchyroll in original Japanese with subtitles

I was wondering when you were going to start next arc so excited.

I remember the first time really getting to see the infinity castle. It’s absolutely insane and very flashy.

Very sad about Zenitsu and Inosuke this season, but they'll come back. Alright, I don't think this is a spoiler, but just so we're clear: the guy who was with Tanjiro's ancestor (whose name is Sumiyoshi) is not his father. This is a distant relative of Tanjiro from back in time, interacting with this other person who is a demon slayer. That's all I'll say, but let's just put it like this. None of these people are Tanjiro's father. Tanjiro's father(tanjUro) was a sick man who was a charcoal maker, and he died. That is the end of Tanjiro's dad's story. Freaking Sky Guy, what a jerk that Sky Guy is. Definitely one for the Kali-Wali books, but nothing beats the Counselor. Nothing will ever beat the Counselor. Every time I hear you say the Emperor, it saddens me that I will never hear you call him the Counselor ever again. Blood shooting from the nose in anime is typically a trope that represents a rush of either attraction or lust. It is supposed to represent increased blood flow, which is why blood was shooting out of Tanjiro's nose. I imagine it's because Mitsuri whispered into his ear very sensually. I'll tell you another trope (and keep this one a secret), but they like to introduce people at kind of a low point or awkwardly. That way, it's basically nothing but up, right? Like Zenitsu and Inosuke. Rengoku to an extent, although admittedly less, he was portrayed as more weird, I think. Definitely Tengen got introduced that way. I mean, it is pretty universal, honestly. And then by the end, you love them. So don't worry too much about Sky Guy. This show makes you shed tears for freaking demons. When can we expect the Mitsuri cosplay? Alright, quick rubberkidney era secret here, memory trick to remember the swordsmith's name: It's Haga (super easy), and then Nezuko but with an "a," so Nezuka. Haganezuka. Bam! You've mastered it. Look how easy that was.

Jacob

You'll love Mitsuri this season lol

Starting a new season and a new arc is so exciting....and I wasn't disappointed. Just when you think the animation has hit a peak, it gets even better.....to me, it was of a high quality cinematic level. The infinity castle is so unique, the village is so secretive, the music is so eerie and brings goosebumps , the character designs are masterfully crafted... I've a feeling this season is gonna blow my mind and I'm captivated already... Thank you Kali, my Saturday just keeps getting better and better.

kaliwali

I'm laughing but appreciating your rubberkidney era secret so much LOL

Yeees! Kanroji is the best! Great reaction as always! 😁

DorkRunner

Miss Kanroji is my absolute favorite Hashira! She's so amazing! There's a taisho era secret about her and Rengoku that I'm really excited for you to see, although I don't remember which episode it's in. Btw, regarding my anime recommendations posted in the film chat, I wanted to say that even though Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (FMA) is my favorite anime of all time, I am kind of hoping you pick either Rascal Does not Dream or Your Lie in April. Both of those are also very special to me, and they're decently short so they wouldn't tie up a super long stretch of time to get through, whereas FMA is about the same length as Demon Slayer. I also think they would be good for even more variety, just like Spy x Family. So far you've mostly watched fantasy/adventure kinds of shows. Not that there isn't variety within that category itself--Frieren is obviously way different than Demon Slayer or One Piece--but it would be really fun to see you react to even more diversity. FMA is absolutely incredible, but it would sort of end up being a little bit more of the same as a lot of the shows you've already been watching (genre-wise). Your Lie in April is kind of a romance, but it falls much more within the drama category. Rascal Does not Dream is a supernatural drama romance (think something within a similar category as Your Name, but a show instead of a movie). Both have their settings as modern-day and in Japan. Ultimately, I think you will absolutely love all three of them, if and whenever you get around to watching them.

Let's keep our eyes open for the last of the five senses representative. I smell that they might be nearby. What's the sense left anyway? We have smell, touch, hearing, and sight by my accounting. Taste? How the heck are they gonna work that in?!

Drae

The sole blemish on MY family... very curious 🤔

Tom

Genya's voice actor is the VA of one of my favorite anime characters. Bakugo from My Hero Academia which I'm praying you eventually watch haha. Love him in this too

hinaru

Keep in mind that Tanjiro didn't sense any animosity or malice from Muichiro so he's not a bad person, just very "matter of fact". He's my favourite Hashira and he'll grow on you too. Fun fact: "Hotaru", Haganezuka's first name, means "firefly"

DorkRunner

Lol. Tanjiro's reaction after Miss Kanroji told him about the weapon wasn't because of hearing about a way to get stronger, it's because she got really close and whispered in his ear XD. Bloody noses in anime are a trope that is often used to portray sexual arousal.

Brian Gavorski

Everything escalates pretty quickly, obviously not having as many episodes of season one, but they do a great job of explaining everything.

Holy Arathi

Lord Doma is strangely likable for a demon.

This song is absolutely on Spotify. (It's also one of my favorite Demon Slayer intro songs.) I think it's even one of the songs that has had an English cover made for it, possibly by AmaLee? If not her then one of the other creators that often does english covers for anime songs. Edit: Here are links to the original and an English cover! It was ShiroNeko that did a pretty good (partial) English cover. I found another good one by Anna Prosser and Bo Baskoro, though. https://open.spotify.com/track/2VBLFxCUyFp5BfmsZpxcis?si=24cc444da4ee4e0d https://open.spotify.com/track/4W0cAoHChKfZqjsQPA1kyu?si=9ea5f352eb6e4e52 https://open.spotify.com/track/0LypJam3cckFxbkM3J6fiu?si=3a3502f832584fbe

Do u think upper moon 1 looks like person from tanjiro's dream??

Howie

Hi Kali, excited for your reactions to this arc! So you LOVE the Love Hashira? Was there any doubt that you would? 😍 By the way, you actually briefly saw Lord Doma (pretty eyes upper two) before, in Gyutaro/Daki's backstory right before when they were turned into demons by him. Regarding Tanjiro's dream, you also briefly saw that man (who you thought was the dad) with the earrings before as well. He was the same man that Daki fearfully reacted to, but it was Muzan's cell's memories and not hers. Back in 2023, if you wanted an advanced preview of the Swordsmith arc, you could see it at the movie theater before everyone else! They made a movie out of it by combining the final two episodes of the Entertainment District Arc and the first episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc. It was awesome to watch the scene in the Infinity Castle with Muzan and the upper five on the big screen!

IsaacDoesStuff

I'm always kinda sad that you watch the intros because they always spoil like 50% of the season. 🥲

Clark Kent

Your point is valid but everyone also watched the intros. It's also part of the anime experience, the song and animation give you hype. It's required to get the full experience.

Kal

Great reaction as always, but also wanted to point out that your hair looked particularly gorgeous.

Shane

Keep tissues on hand for the next lot of episodes, you'll need them!!! There's always a good reason why the Hashira are the way they are! Just like almost every demon has a tragic back story yes Muichiro is far too young for Konroji, he's only 14... mater of Fact all the Hashira are incredibly young, Konroji herself is only 19! I think Tengen is only 24 while Rengoku was only 20! The oldest is the Stone Hashira and he's only 27 i believe!

kaliwali

oh woah! i knew he was young but 14.. wow!

kaliwali

I love the intros bc they get me hyped for each episode! And if I was watching by myself I wouldn't skip them :)

kaliwali

My mod has mentioned several heavy spoilers or explaining ahead in this comment section so I won't be reading any further! Please remember I am going into this blind. Please don't make connections I haven't made yet or over explain things that come into play in the future! Thank you so much! 🩷

Andrew Crabtree

The infinity castle oh when that movie comes out it’s gonna be a banger

Alexander Ocean

I know you are excited bro, but try not to tell people to "keep tissues on hand" since Kali has explained she wants to go into all of this blind and having those expectations explained, taints the experience.

M00n_chain

absolute cinema coming up🔥🔥🔥🔥🫡
