I kinda love how much these episodes were still super wholesome on the surface, but there was this deeper darkness boiling underneath now. We finally got to meet Mister Dog! And he can SEE THE FUTURE!?Seeing Anya tap into that was absolutely everything.I honestly feel like that connection is so important to her. "You're like me..."For the first time, she's not alone in her world. There's someone else that exists in that same strange space of having powers you can't explain, powers you hide, powers that were obtained through dark means. And instead of shrinking from it, she leans in! She uses it for good! She tries to change what she sees from Bond for world peace 🤍Her rushing to save Loid had me stressed to the max, but also so proud of her.Her little 4 or 5 year old self was so brave and chose to act. Then that speech from Loid's handler after they captured the terrorists.. Wow.It completely shifted the tone of the show. All the noise, all the ideology, all the reckless passion of those students who think war is something distant, something romantic, something worth igniting for a cause. And she just lays it bare... What war actually is. The suffering. The irreversible damage.It grounded the entire arc in a way that made this show feel heavier, raw, real. Like behind all the silly disguises and missions and spy games, this world has true real world scars that never fully healed. I feel it, too.And Yor.. I continue to love her and be absolutely terrified by her. Mama Bear mode at its maximum power!The way she steps in to protect Anya without hesitation. Just pure instinct.It says everything about who she is at her core.Somehow through all of this. Terrorist, bombs, political tension, literal future-seeing dogs. This family keeps getting closer and closer. Not even just because they're pretending better. But because they truly become themselves in these moments together.
