I genuinely think this might be one of the most AMAZING ANIME MOVIES 🔥👀

I already loved the chaos that Chainsaw Man season 1 had, but WOWThe animation, the music, the fights, the art styles... everything was so incredibly well done!I went in expecting absolute unhinged insanity (which we totally got lol)But I wasn't expecting such a beautifully tragic love story to happen!This was somehow hilarious, breathtakingly beautiful, and completely heartbreaking all at once.Reze.. I can't help but love her. Her and Denji are mirrors of one another. Two kids robbed of their childhoods, used as weapons and desperately searching for a life they can finally own for themselves. What made this story so tragic is that Reze had an ulterior motive, yeah.. But she truly falls for Denji along the way. But Denji will never know that she came running back for him... UGH 😩Because Makima.. What even IS she??? The rats, Beam being afraid to reveal too much of what he knows, the way she seems to pull strings with perfect timing?? But also why is she so likable and interesting LOL She does the worst things, but I still find myself wanting to know more about her.And Aki. He's probably my favorite character in this series not gonna lie.I love how much his character is slowly changing even if he can't admit it, ever lolHe's dedicated his whole life to hating devils, yet keeps sacrificing pieces of his life to save them.He's spent so much time defining himself by revenge that he forgot who he is without it..This movie honestly blew me AWAY.I've already rewatched it since I sat to record this with you guys LOLThis is definitely one that's going to stay with me for a long long time.I can't wait for whenever the next season gets here 🔥Thank you guys for hanging out on my Chainsaw Man journey!!Next up... The sequence in the building was one of my favorite animated fight sequences ever it was so well animated and easy to follow, also even with part 2 of the manga over Reze is still my favorite character in the series “I didn’t get to go to school either” just heartbreaking 😭

You know people keep saying having a contract with the Death devil would make you the strongest, but if you pick the good an easy ones like Makima with the Rat devil you are probably gonna be more efficient. Like these two public security guys, the Mold Devil? Who would think of that? But yeah you are kinda done if you get it, they were just unlucky to be up against a quasi immortal devil.

My favorite part of the entire movie is if you look really closely, Makima is moving her coffee mug to the toon of Reze's song when she's singing despite being nowhere near them in the school. Lol makes me think Makima is just always watching Denji and that the spider catching the moth was actually representing Makima. I am of the belief she's a problem. Lol and not a good one. Also love the Shark Fiend is just Tanjiro..lmao By far my favorite animated movie. I could watch this 100x and not get tired of it. The animation, voice acting, music, action, and story are just all 10/10

Fun fact, the spider VS butterfly imagery during the pool scene can be read in multiple ways: 1/ The spider (the typhoon killer) is coming to get Reze just like he explained before in the bathroom scene (since at that point we don't know about Reze's true nature) 2/ Reze is the spider who caught Denji in her trap But the more interesting one is the 3rd, where the butterfly showed in that scene is actually a real species of poisonous butterflies that kill the predator hunting them (if you look at the last scene it does seems like the spider is paralized/dead) so you can read that as "Reze is the spider but she underestimated her prey" or simply "the pretty butterfly is a lot more dangerous than it looks.

Not trying to show off, but I got to see both the Reze arc and the Infinity Castle in IMAX back to back 😝 fall 2025 was a totally blessing for my ears, my eyes and everything. But imo, if there is a rerelease for both, especially the Reze arc, you have to give Dolby Vision a try, the sound and visual are PHENOMENAL.

This is untrue. Monarch butterflies are only poisonous to vertebrates. Spiders are completely immune to it's toxins and eat them just fine.

Well then that still works since she failed to kill Denji despite a poisonous/treacharous nature. I think the point is that this wasn't just any butterfly, but one with some hidden aspect to them.

I had just got back from my first holiday to Japan, a few days later I went and saw this movie in the Cinema. I already had holiday blues, and this movie just intensified those feelings. Such a great movie. If you are interested there are 2 teaser trailers for the next season on Youtube, if you wanted a little more CSM before next years release. It's one of those movies where nothing around me existed while watching it in theaters, and it doesn't happen often. Only time I felt this "recently" was with Across the Spider-verse. I just love animated movies man... Pure escapism.

I had a feeling we couldn't trust Reze, she was just giving off the cute girl but is actually playing you vibe I've seen a bunch in Japanese media. Not a Yandere (honestly Makima fits that more closely) but within that realm I guess. Beam and Denji are such a great combo, they really feed off each other's insanity perfectly lol. That classic "eh?" sound gets we every single time. Doesn't matter if it's in anime or live-action variety comedy shows, it always tickles my funny bone. Overall that was great, really enjoyed watching it. I'm glad you decided to watch this show, it gave me a reason to check it out. Not that I couldn't on my own but I've absolutely been in a "off anime" phase for the last bunch of years. Looking forward to whenever season 2 comes out.

I love how many subtle things are in this movie. When Aki throws his cigarette packet away, some come out. He's quit smoking, perhaps accepted his revenge for himino and let her go? Or he doesn't want to die. The end credits scene was also much needed catharsis, although it doesn't help Reze at all. So glad you decided to watch this, I kept meaning to re-start the series after I dropped it, but I just never did until now.

Definitely one of the best anime movies I've seen. The animation in several recent anime has been absurd, over the top, chaotic, and just all around amazing. Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen (fight scene animation in JJK is probably my favorite, especially a couple of standout fights, if you know, you know (no spoilers)). Another thing I enjoy recently is the more tasteful...inappropriate situations lol. Denji's goal with boobs and sex and kissing, while very childish and adolescent, is done very well. The pool scene, with the artful "nudity" was just beautiful. I really dislike a lot of anime tropes where they over-sexualize on the ditzy female and I feel it's mostly just because "sex sells" type of vibe, and I'm always just like, really people? (not that there's anything wrong if some people prefer that, just personal preference on my part) The music in this is also standout, whether it was intense and chaotic during the fight scenes, or calm and beautiful and heartwarming, it was all done so well in this movie.

I like to think that since Reze is like Denji that maybe she's still alive but she got struck by the Angel Devil's spears. Given the Angel Devil can create special weapons that can kill ghosts and devils I suspect she is dead. Again, that's just my speculation and I'm hope she's actually still alive but I doubt it. P.S. There are two season 2 trailers of Season 2 on Mappa's Youtube page.

In case you haven't heard them yet, some neat details! before the final showdown as Reze is about to snap and Denji is about to pull his cord, the windows in the building behind them are lit up to form the number 10. Then every time the scene cuts back to the wide shot with the buildings in it, the number counts down, counting down to the 'draw' moment. Reze also never calls Denji 'chainsaw' or any variation of that. She only ever calls him Denji. There is also, im not sure if you noticed, but when Reze tells Denji to come to her because she is going to show them how they fight, its mirroring the pool scene where she holds her arms out in the same way and tells Denji she would teach him everything. also it took awhile for it to click with me, but Makima's story at the end about the country mice and watching a friend of hers exterminate them en mass, was basically telling Reze that it didn't matter which one she was, as long as she was a mouse, she was always going to be in danger wherever she was. also also, don't know if you caught this one either, but when Reze hears Denji say that he had Makima, she goes on to say "Then it wouldn't have mattered if we ran away together.." insinuating that if they did Makima would find them. just her saying this out loud you can tell she really did fall for him and was disappointed that even running away wouldn't really work. which is also why in the end she broke Denji's neck, she knew he was serious, and if he went with her, Makima was likely going to find them and deal with them.

Next season will be so incredibly insane. 😩 Idk if you caught this or if someone pointed this out already, but Aesop's fable " The City Mouse and the Country Mouse" keeps getting woven into the story of part 1 of Chainsaw Man. Hence for example the way that Makima appears at the end of the movie.

We are caught up with each other, I have not read the Manga so we have both seen the same things and we are both knowledgeable on the same parts of the story. So I can share my theories without worry. One, in the beginning when they are in the pool you see a spider in a web. Initially you would think that the spider is Reze and the prey is Denji. In hindsight I believe that the spider is Makima and the prey is Reze. I also believe that Reze fully intended to run away with Denji, but she needed him to be on the same page. At the end of the movie she stated that she took too much time. I believe what she means is that she spent too much time getting to know him and she fell in love with him. She should have just killed him outright the moment they met. But she didn't. I think she used those first interactions in order to truly just judge what kind of person he is. There's also a small detail at the very end of the movie whenever they both are drowning in the water, she uses her bomb powers to push them both deeper and in my opinion it's because she is ready to die while being in Denjis arms. In that moment she gave up on her mission and just wanted it all to end. And after this movie I came to the conclusion myself that I believe that makima is actually an antagonist. I don't trust that b***h one fucking second. Reze is best girl, I feel so bad for her because she is a victim just like Denji and just like so many other people in this universe.

Denji and Reze are very different in their upbringings and life experience, but I bet they both want the same things. They're both desperate for normal human connection. They're both just teenagers.

I am so glad this show was picked. Like most of your Anime choices, it is the first time watching for me too. And I absolutely loved this one. There are a few that I hope you pick (e.g. Attack on Titan) each time you pick a new one, and can feel a bit dissapointed. But I need to remember all the great new shows I have seen with you. We will if JJK is the next great discovery. The animation and music in this one was incredible. If you are looking for shows with great animation, action, and music, please consider Arcane or Blue Eye Samurai. Even though they are not Anime, they would I think fit the theme of your animation journey you have been on lately.

The pacing of this movie was the best part for me. The time they spent unpacking each scene and the balance of the slow building moments and the action scenes. No moment no matter how serious or momentous felt like it over shadowed another. The whole movie just flowed. I did miss Power though she is my favorite.

Also I believe the reason why makima kills her in the end is because she has influence over Denji. She can't allow someone to exist who holds any influence over Denji.

A few details for you to cry about: - The Butterfly that is seen getting eaten by a Spider is a Monarch Butterfly. Is poisonous for spiders that eat it. Reze fell into the trap of love - At the end, you see the board with the recommendations of the caffee, with the old menu erased and a new put in place. Reze erased the old menu, and put the options that Denji liked the most. - In the Phone Booth, Reze was holding her choker, and had her other hand in her back pocket, the same that at the end reveals she had her knife in. She was about to kill Denji right then and there, but started laughing and crying cause she couldn’t once she saw his face, she fell in love - The white flower Denji gave Reze is a White Daisy. It means innocence, love at first sight and fresh beginnings. The red flower that Reze is holding at the end and makes her go back to Denji is a Red Daisy, that means deep romantic love, passion, courage and vitality. - When Reze sees Denji riding Beam, she burst out laughing, wheezing. It’s recurring that Reze can’t hold her laughter at any of Denji’s jokes. At the beach, she burst out laughing, and immediately copes out saying that all her actions were a lie. She was doing a desperate lie in an attempt to keep Denji away from her, safe. - Reze is shown to be a horrible liar. Even at the Special Division 2 Trainning Center, she couldn’t even put a decent performance to fool anyone. It ties to the end, that she couldn’t even hold the lie that she didn’t care about Denji, a fact that Denji immediately disputed and she couldn’t even back up. - If you zoom at her notebook when she’s studying, you can see she wrote Denji’s name a couple of times next to hearts - When Angel tells Denji he can chose between letting Reze kill him or he kills her, he answers with “that choice is easy enough”. But before he told Reze he is “arresting her”, he said in the beach that it was worth it for him to be killed by her, and when he dragged her into the ocean, he disolved the chainsaws of his feet and turned his head away to avoid hurting her. - When they both fall into the sea, the memories we see of them in the pool are Reze’s. She even lays her head in Denji’s shoulder, the same thing we saw her doing when she hugged him in the beach. She was willing to die right next to him. - When Angel is explaining to Aki about the fable of the City and the Country Mouse, Aki is seem visibly shaken and doesn’t answer. In the flashback when Aki last saw his family, it’s show that his parents were reading his little brother that same fable in a book. It was the last thing they were doing before being killed by the Gun Devil

This was such a satisfying reaction to watch! I've been looking forward to this all week. 😁 It's so fun watching someone who gets it and isn't just mesmerized by the spectacle of it all LOL Reze's VA really knocks it out of the park. The playfulness in her voice throughout the beginning is so endearing, and her last line at the end that's barely a whisper is so heartbreaking. The same actress plays one of the main characters in BLUE BOX which is a really cute romantic comedy type series and just got a second season. I really love the post credits scene with Power in the cafe. That shot of her eyes over the flowers, I feel like there's intention behind that pause in her normal narcissistic antics. To me it feels like she's really seeing Denji, and she knows he's not ok. It seems like she waits for him to react before she carries on, like she's reading the room for the first time ever. Amazing character work with such short screen time. Something I missed the first time I watched it was in the long lead up to the very end of the fight, right before Denji pulls Reze into the water. I didn't know why that scene had so many cuts but it's because the lights on the building in the background keep changing.... it's a countdown! There were a lot of Aki/Angel edits on socials after this movie was released too, and 90% of them were to the song that goes, "you're out of touch / I'm out of time". 😥 Anyway that was a lot, sorry. Saw the movie in the cinema and it was, well...absolute cinema I remember not really being that interested in CSM at first but i am glad i gave it a shot when it was airing As for JJK, hope people will enjoy it but i doubt i will be watching, i strongly dislike JJK...

Towards the beginning when Angel says he believes all humans should suffer when they die, I always remember what Aki told Denji in episode 2 when denji killed that fiend. Aki said I’d rather make every devil I kill suffer as much as possible. So they both say that the others kind should suffer but they both act against it at some point in this movie.

My favorite bit of symbolism in this whole movie is the spider and the butterfly during the pool scene. Obviously at first it’s supposed to symbolize how Reze was trapping Denji through all this. But the butterfly that the spider caught was a monarch butterfly, which are poisonous to spiders. So Reze lured Denji in to trap him but fell for him and her feelings resulted in her getting killed by Makima.

My perception of you has definitely changed in a cool way. It's impressive, not just Tarkov either. Quick glance at the few available clips that are still up on your twitch channel shows you're quite the gamer. From rewatching shows through your anime reactions it's like two different people which is why this revelation is so cool.

When Denji mentions Makima, Reze basically says that if Makima had her eyes on him, it wouldn’t have mattered even if they had run away together. To me, that confirmed that she really did fall for Denji and genuinely wanted to run away with him.

I knew something was off with Reze but not until the school scene with the contrast of shadows with her standing in red light. Color theory told me so.

Is it a rat devil? I assumed because of the shear amount of them it represented like plague or pestilence. But that doesn’t make sense is she can crush people from a distance, but I guess plague doesn’t make sense either. Which means she has to have a few or a lot of contracts. I haven’t read the manga so I don’t really know. Just spit balling here.

Oh definitely! I have to imagine Kali will eventually do Attack on Titan reactions, and am definitely looking forward to if/when she does. It was one of my guesses on what anime it was going to be that she hadn't revealed yet, which turned out to be Jujutsu Kaisen. I also thought it may be DanDaDan or One Punch Man. Both of which would be great reactions as well for the choreography.
