What a great suggestion to check this out!!🫶🏻 This is definatly an all time favorite that came out of the kingdome show. There are some other performaces from that show that probably would be a lot of fun to do in a simular way (original + cover) if youre up for it😄 BTOB are known for their amazing vocals and have so many great songs, that you could give a listen! Eunkwang btw also did the arrangement for this. I still remember when the Show aired people went crazy over Seugmins vocals because of Straykids Rap/HipHop focus most people havent really heared him show off his voice like this. Don't sweat the pronunciation of korean names/words. Englishification (or really Americanization) of the korean words will never be correctly spelled bc vowel sounds in korean are SO DIFFERENT compared to american english and the way american english naturally puts emphasis on multi-syllabic words is almost practically the inverse of korean. It'd actually be kind of impossible to type out the "correct" way to say their names without having to drop like an audio file The entire Queendom/Kingdom series has some incredible performances and covers (especially when the groups mix like this......every season has a round where different members from different groups have to team up). Queendom Season 2 had girls from WJSN and VIVIZ/GFRIEND team up and also cover another IU song called 'Hold My Hand' which is also goosebump inducing (the WJSN member Yeonjung I THINK still has the highest recorded note ever in a MNET network produced competition show-and they've had dozens and dozens of shows-although maybe she's been subsequently beat but in the show PD101 she hit like a 5th octave G when she was like 15-16 yrs old)

Eunkwang is an incredible singer......he's one of only a handful of male kpop idols who can BELT (or at least mixed) a fifth octave G or G# and funny thing, there are 3 other in BTOB who can sing just as well.....they just have different timbre's to their voices

I had actually never heard the original by IU before, very nice as well. It's always interesting to hear how they've changed/adjusted when doing a cover. And I had no idea the lyrics WERE SO SAD. I am almost in tears over here. As a peace offering for having a difficult name, since you mentioned really enjoying the raw vocals in this cover, I found this short clip of Seungmin at the recent dominATE: celebrATE concert where they are doing a call-and-response segment with the crowd and Bang Chan asks Seungmin to sing a line from Cover Me with no backing track or anything, so the crowd can sing back. These performances were great! I had never heard the original by IU, though I knew from this and other covers of her songs (Jongho's done a couple) that I should look into her. I gotta do that now, 'cause it's incredible that she can evoke so much emotion without us even knowing the lyrics. Eunkwang from BtoB is a decade older than the other two and seems to have done a fantastic job assigning parts to give the younger guys chances to shine. I really wish I could hear autotune when it's not used stylistically, but I really can't (yet?). Singing live is really brave, yeah, ATEEZ just did it at an award show and there were a couple of audible issues, but I'm always super happy to hear them for real. Thanks for the reaction!

Seungmin, the main vocalist of stray kids released a solo cover of this song in his song by series. Highly recommend.

This song was published briefly after IUs singer friend Sulli was driven into suicide. I do not know if the text was influenced by this event but there is an emotional connection and I am sure that IU always connotes this song with Sulli.
