This song is actually the fastest song ever to reach 100 million streams on Billboard Japan! And I think the 1:34 part supposed to be the hook? & Im pretty sure Yonezu Kenshi writes and sings all of his song unless mentioned otherwise, he was originally a Vocaloid producer, and he was one of those Vocaloid producers that does everything themselves (music/lyrics/arrangement/ and even drawing the illustration for the MV) But he doesn’t use Vocaloid that much nowadays tho. As for the lyrics, I would say it’s ~3-40% language barrier/translation, ~6-70% references to the anime, you’ll definitely understand way more if you watch the show (it’s very very good)

The songs for Chainsaw Man are always so good and represent the insanity of Denji’s (the main character of Chainsaw Man) life where he has a simple wish and desire that keeps getting him dragged into some of the darkest situations possible. When you say that this series is “heavy” the fandom would return with “You don’t know half of it” because BOY DOES IT GET DARK AND TWISTED.

Also to add, this is from the Rize Arc movie. The reason this is a movie instead of your traditional episodic release is because this is where the series starts cranking up blood, gore, and sexual content up and it it wouldn’t really suit the Japanese TV audience very well. They tend to do this with R rated anime such as Fate and Demon Slayer because they need the budget and looser rating regs in order to animate the adaptations closer to their source material.

Welcome to the Chainsaw Man fanbase! So, Kenshi Yonezu has gone on interviews saying that when originally read Chainsaw Man, he couldn't help start crafting the music in his head if it ever got an anime production. He purposefully did a bunch of vocal lessons to make his voice deeper and scratchier for the first opening of Chainsaw Man, Kick Back. You really need to do a live reaction to Kick Back now! But if the Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc is still playing in your local theater, I would honestly suggest go seeing it in Dolby even if you haven't watched season one. The soundtrack is done by Kensuke Ushio. In my last 36 years of life, this was honestly the best music and sound experience I have ever heard in my entire life along with it being the best anime movie I have ever seen. The music literally brought me to tears in certain scenes.

The craziest thing about him is how he's self taught and seems to just make these crazy songs on instinct. He's mentioned in interviews that he doesn't know much music theory, and when other artists have asked about some of his choices he hasn't known how to respond
