BLOODSPORT (1988) - MOVIE REACTION - First Time Watching

Bloodsport is a 1988 martial arts film directed by Newt Arnold. An American-Hong Kong co-production, the film stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, with a supporting cast of Leah Ayres, Forest Whitaker, Donald Gibb, Roy Chiao, and Bolo Yeung. The film centers on Frank Dux (Van Damme), a United States Army Captain and ninjutsu practitioner who competes in an underground full-contact martial arts tournament called the Kumite in Hong Kong. Based on Dux's real-life claims, the film was marketed as a true story. It was one of Van Damme's first lead roles and showcased his abilities, launching his career as a mainstream action star. Great reaction as usual Coby! See you next time!

The movie is enjoyable, but I agree with you, the acting is not great. Are there any unintentionally bad movies that you like? What’s your guilty pleasure watch?

Have you ever seen Jersey Shore Shark Attack? Literally one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. It’s supposed to be a spoof of the Jersey Shore TV show, and characters have names like “Nookie,” and “The Complication.” Hilariously bad, if you can sit through it. Much like the reality show it’s based on😆

Coby I think you'll like universal soldier aka Jean Claude vs dolph Lundgren. That's probably my favourite film he was in. Awol was good aswell but acting again wasn't great and they look very budget film making. The acting in his films is always second to his fighting in most films. This era was all about cheesy action hero's. I relate to lundgren as he was as tall as me. But he did quite alot of lame films. "Dark angel" aka "I come in piece" I think it was in America. Was one I thought was one of his best.

Coby, what do you think makes us like movies like this? they have bad acting, cheesy lines, bad flashbacks when that they just showed you the scene before, and bad soundtrack, but still they are fun to watch, interested in your option. Since you also enjoyed it at same time made fun of it lol

I love Coby and her reactions, but when I think of martial arts films, I don't think of Jean-Claude Van Damme. Not to discredit his martial arts skills, he was the real deal, but if I had a choice, I'd take Bruce Lee over him any day in a movie.

You were really generous with your overall impression of this movie. Your reaction was great. The movie itself, in my view, was less so. You seem to be able to see the positive in everything.
