But then they would have needed an extremely plausible reason as to why the person that was his father and Eric are still alive when the little boy's bloodline would be snuffed out before Iris family. Ngl, I think the deaths in this movie are pretty weak compared to the past movies but I did really like the premise of Death going after people who shouldn't exist if someone avoided his indented deaths long enough for a family to be made. "JB" is the Coroner that shows up throughout the series, played by Tony Todd. The reason he looks like that is because Tony had stomach cancer during the time they shot the film. Movie was goofy! Death was the best character. They did a great job setting things with little twists to them and I liked the theme with the glass. Otherwise, the acting was pretty bad/average. yeah I thought it was just me, while I didnt hate this movie, it just didn't hit for me. There were like so many things about it I liked as a concept, but just felt the ideas weren't executed out the best. I think the concept of a bloodlines and dealing with death in family, is a cool and fresh idea. But because the family has this strong internal conflict, it felt like that needed more time to get even more fleshed out, but because this is a final destination movie they gotta get moving. It felt like 2 different movies in one. Like the final destination movies never really had like deep characters, but because of that it meant that there would need to be more focus on trying to outsmart death. And here it's like they don't really start to get ball rolling to half way in the movie. So we have this family drama plot that needs more time to cook. But we have this new concept of death working down through the family takes a minute to kick in. And I just found the juggling of these 2 things, not quite aligning. But I am glad that this was successful enough that a 7th movie was announced, hoping the next one can refine the concept they introduced here.

I understand the importance of the anime reactions and I enjoy them, as a reaction, but the channel only started putting live actions on the schedule permanently relatively recently and it ended up being a major success. Unlike anime reactions we’ve gotten at least 90% of live action shows decided through a poll, so they felt way more democratic. The only natural step forward would be going in that direction

It's difficult explaining to you without spoiling the previous movies. I can tell you one thing though, because it is never properly explained in details in this or other movies: there is no exact explanation of why some people get these premonitions. Several popular theories are they have some sort of latent psychic ability, or there are some distortion of reality happened when Death take actions that make them perceive these visions. My head cannon, and many also think this way, is that Death itself gives away these premonitions simply to toy with its victims. As for whether Kimberly is the only one ever to succeed in cheating death or not, you should watch the other movies.

Those would be what makes the most sense because even just in this movie the visions make the deaths happens sooner. It’s what made the girl go see her grandmother. If she hadn’t then death would’ve had to wait until granny died. Then everybodys death would’ve felt random and no one would be paranoid about death coming to get them and setting up their own deaths trying to protect themselves. Also runs the risk of JB dying from his cancer first and breaking the chain for everyone else.
