The lore for this show is so good. To back up roshi's theory - Shinra's doppler was a devil based on rumors. The sister is warm and welcoming which is what a lot of people think of amaterasu.

Just watched the OP and without any context for what I just saw, it seems fine to watch so long as yall dont look too deep into it. If yall really want to put it off to the end of the season thats fine, but I need to see yall watch the Captain and Hina dap each other before its over (you'll know what I mean). Not like y'all didnt watch "The Rumbling" back when AoT was still airing lol.

There's no real harm in playing things safe (unless Roshi forgets to watch the opening later, cause this song is great), so I think skipping it was probably a good thing. However, if they'd chosen to watch the opening instead of skipping, I don't think it would have been a big issue. As an anime-only watcher, I feel like it's safe until near the end, which has 1 or 2 spoilers. Everything else feels like you need context to understand.

I'm curious. Have you read the manga? I'm an anime-only fan who watched the new OP, and the only 1 or 2 things I felt spoiled by were in the final seconds. No harm in Roshi playing it safe, but I hope he watches it later. Song is a banger.

I'm anime only as well yeah. I felt really spoiled by Removal of Headwear is as vague as I can say it. There's a few other minor things but that's the main thing I feel spoiled by.

Now, here’s what I don’t get. If Iris is the doppelgänger of Amaterasu, then how is she not only a pyrotechnic, but also a pillar? Actually, how do the doppelgängers like Iris and Burns’s demon doppelgänger manifest outside of their bodies? Especially the ones who are pyrotechnics. Simply becoming a pyrotechnic means that the person dominated their doppelgänger when it tried to take over their body, right? That’s why I assume Adolla Shinra was able to take over for three months, because Shinra wasn’t in the body for that length of time. So there shouldn’t be a doppelgänger to bring into the material world… unless, this is the logic of Adolla being the Dream World, and that causes multiple doppelgängers of the same person to manifest. I’m just wanting to know if all of this is going to be explained. No need to go into details or confirm if it is.

With just a bit of context you can start to piece a lot of things together, and it becomes a domino effect, it's better for anime onlys to just not watch it imo

Thanks for sharing your opinion. Yes, I feel like that's something they should have included as a "v2" update later in the season. I'm bummed that I saw it, but until I know what it means, I have convinced myself that I wasn't spoiled *too* badly. That scene and the one we see at the very end feel like the only real spoilers or spoiler-adjacent scenes, though. At least in my opinion.

There was various ways for doppelgängers to cross from Adolla to our worlds. One of them is Adolla links either through Adolla bursts or Bugs. Other is through Fissures created during previous cataclysm like the Lady from on other continent, the shape shifting dude and Eris

Roshi pretty much hit it on the head. That's why Shinra goes on to explain that everyone expects Amaterasu to be warm and loving (we have already seen that this is not the case in reality because she's insane). Since Doppelgangers are the version of you that others see, it follows that Iris is Amaterasu's doppelganger, everything people expect Amaterasu to be.

The ideia I got is that the doppelganger are how people perceive the real person, so shinra is seen as a devil and that's why his doppelganger is evil, Amaterasu is seen and they're savior and nice since Amaterasu is what powers up the city, then that's why sister is so nice, because she's was the doppelganger all along and the real sister is the Amaterasu

You're right about Iris. The thing that's hard to convey is Shinra seeing the "real" world isn't a 4th wall break in the traditional sense. It isn't a fictional character realizing they're a cartoon, it's more like.... I'm not sure how to put it. Imagine you could look through the past to before something like the Biblical Great Flood, and what you saw were "people" but like 4th dimensional. Like you see a person, but you see them in every timeline at once Honestly it's brilliantly executed Cosmic Horror. Everything looks familiar in concept, but indescribably "wrong". It's NOT breaking the 4th wall, it's rebuilding the 4th wall around the audience. The "World" as we know it is the prequel to the world of Fire Force. YOU are canon in Fire Force.
