Jokes aside, many of things that Frieren does or does not do nowadays are based on what she thinks Himmel would or would not do, so blasting them is out of the question. I hate the "I am strong so you cannot force me to do anything" plot. And actually, Frieren has been in the same situation before. Remember in season 1 when Aura's subordinates captured Frieren? At that point in the story, we haven't been introduced to the demons much and her title, Frieren the Slayer, has not been dropped, so we were actually worried for her, meanwhile she could pack them up easily. And now, just because we know Frieren is strong and they could do nothing to her, you expect her to use violence instead of paying her debt?

People def do not live long. I would not be surprised if frieren over the past over 1000 years has had other debts but because time is different for her the debtors have died and since this gold was part of a verbal agreement half of it anyways, if enough time passed she could wiggle from paying it back by saying she helped defeat the demon king. Plus who would chase an elf for years let alone decades or centuries for some gold when they could live their own life instead make the elf mad and have her shinra tensei you into the sky
