This episode perfectly exemplifies why fire force is so loved with the beginning portion and why fire force can also be deemed as something people won’t watch with the tamaki stuff. Really depends on if you feel like the tamaki character ruins your experience or not

I got baited so hard with this episode the first 5 minutes I was locked in. And the rest was just straight clown shoes I absolutely did not care for the rest of this episode Tamaki and the fan-service straight up took me out I felt like the whole episode was wasted. I've seen better anime that has fan-service that actually has meaning in the story this is a piss poor representation man.

These Tamaki episodes genuinely piss me off. Fire Force is better than most new gen anime for 90% of the time. Then they release episodes like this that make me question why I even watch the show despite how good it is. What’s annoying is that she actually has cool abilities. But they chose to waste it and make her character 90% fan service with no substance.

One of the things I genuinely appreciate about this series both in the manga and the anime is how bizarre and fourth wall breaking things get towards the end which is something you don’t see in a lot of other series. David productions in my opinion dropped the ball the first half of this season but they are absolutely cooking with this last batch of episodes. This particular portion where they emphasize the “importance” or justification of Tamakii’s fan service is a case of either you go along with it or you don’t. Legitimately no in between lol.

This episode was an experience; the mangaka/production team sorta snapped with this episode 😂 That whole beginning sequence (WTF but it's so Japan), the meta-ness, the eros, the lewdness, the concept of the mob and world-builders, it was as silly as it was interesting. Also, I too felt like this was sort of a call out to people that complain about Tamaki being such a fanservice character. Tho I know half of those complaints have to do with her being a teenage girl that's being lechered (valid criticism). In any case, I hope all those people watched this episode, lol.

I’m glad Kill la Kill came out when it did, people still complained about fan service back then but they at least had some class about it. Darwin incident, Journal with Witch, Medalist. There's a reason why fanservice and sexually provocative stuff is produced and consumed- sex sells. Sex and sexuality is apart of life. This episode was about each person has their own interpretation of time and place regarding appropriate expressions of sex and sexuality. Like it or not, sex connects humans- we're born from it, and our lives are split into sections that revolve around our own sexuality: pre-puberty, puberty, menstruation, menopause, etc. There is also the mob mentality of projection and hating on things that make you uncomfortable but there's obvious rights and wrongs regarding appropriate and inappropriate sexuality. So the ppl that dropped the show because Tamaki was a sexual character and they didn't like it but it reinforced the stereotypes that a woman's sexuality (or sexuality in general) cheapens the experience, when sexuality isn't inherently bad all across the board. Different strokes for different folks but again some ppl can't break out of the matrix and mob mentality on order to think for themselves and join the rest of the "World Builders".

Whole show is about archetypes, stereotypes, self-image and representing different flavors of humanity and how it's linked to Adolla and the collective unconscious. Shinra's the hero, Sho is the angel, Arthur is the escapist/dreamer, Iris is the saint, Tamaki is a sensualist/sex-symbol. It was a good episode that talks about how sexuality isn't inherently bad.

Granted idk if she needs to add anything more to the story- some characters just bring a certain vibe to the story and that's all they do (comic relief, npc types, etc.) But really? As much as I HATE Tamaki's whole comedy perv shtick, this episode was very well executed imo. Sex and sensuality, regardless of context, is a natural human instinct that comes in many forms and it is a a huge source of motivation. I mean without a proud sense of sex and sensuality, the world would end, people wouldnt give a shit about stuff and everything will fizzle out. And even if one cant come across sex, expression of sex and connection via 'he like me fr' is also very important otherwise people would go crazy.

I found out some people really hated this episode apparently. Because they saw it as the mangaka trying to excuse fanservice and lean into it by making it a good thing. My favorite scenes or fights in Fire Force goes as follows in this order: Tamaki's training arc with the two little twins, Tamaki's lewdness battle with Assault, Shinra's fight with Charon, Ogun's fight (Not the recent one). I'm not even lying, Tamaki is unironically the character that makes me laugh the hardest and enjoy the show the most. And now, I think this fight has taken my topmost liked fight in the entire series. I almost wish there was a character like this in Gachikuta, but I doubt she'd (the mangaka for Gachikuta) would want something like that in her manga as a main character, and that's not me saying that's a bad thing, just saddening personally.

I think the main problems with Tamaki are that, even though sex sells. For some reason, the author made it so that every time the fan service happened, it was against her will. And that out of all the hot-of-age women he could've chosen for this episode, ESPECIALLY HIBANA, he chose a minor as the main fan service, and to be the focus point of this type of story...

I get the feeling that all you complainers have not watched more than a few anime. If this upsets you, then you will not have a good time watching anime. Most, if not all, anime (depending on the genre you watch) is aimed at teenage boys, so the content is usually made for that age group. Her being 17(not pedo stuff) is not that bad or horrible as you guys make it seem(in anime), be thankful that the fictional sexualized character isn't a literal child. Don't take it so seriously.

Not when young girls are depicted as the image of sexuality. They literally have minors doing gravure or in highly suggestive poses in Japan. Fanservice is okay to a certain point, the series just pushed to the max with Tamaki.
