Remember, in this episode, Ulrich's mom said she saw the 80s Helge 'arguing' with the Priest/Noah in current day (2019). And she said 'the man with the ear injury' hadn't aged a day from when she last saw him back then in the 80s. So safe to assume the middle-aged Helge, specifically, is time travelling around as well. (We have also now seen 3 Helge's from 3 different times, which is cool). Moreover, as we already know and saw, Mads's unalived body was somehow sent from 1986 to the future (2019).

Pre episode theory, maybe this is the only place that you can go thru time that people have found but if not “fed” or used it runs out which is why a constant cycle must be perpetuated, there has to be a reason this is being kept secret but used so much at the same time, if what the shows themes seem to be can tell me anything maybe the end goal of all this is to try to fix one person’s mistake

the way the dark haired bearded guy just casually popped up next to jonas when he was at the hospital was so funny. like what are you doing here ariana 🤣 and not sure if you guys FULLY made the connection, but the cave that charlotte rappelled into and looked around is the same one claudia (the female director of the power plant) went to in '86 (in episode 3). claudia saw all the yellow barrels of radioactive waste, but when charlotte went there in 2019, all she saw was some of the yellow barrels' paint scraped off the rocks.

Dark does a good job to keeping the mystery veiled but revealing just enough to keep you curious while introducing new questions. A lot of shows that try to keep a sense of mystery over time get frustrating to watch because they can't do that well.

This is an explanation. The dead kid at the end is Elizabeth’s boyfriend. As far as I remember, they don’t circle back to explain that that IS him, you just gotta recognize him. Mads was the kid sent from the 80’s to 2019 that Ulrich is investigating and is ofc his brother. Helge is originally from the 50’s, yes. We saw him as a kid, we saw him as a janitor of the nuclear plant that Regina’s mom was running, and we see him as an old dementia patient. I think there’s so much going on in the show that yall are a bit fried😭 I get it
