I don't think that future was an alternate dimension where Mark turned bad and settled down with a viltrumite. I think it was literally this world's future. Think about it, if Eve can come back from death like what happened with Conquest, she's functionally immortal. What is aging to someone who can literally rewrite her body at the molecular level? And then now imagine a kid with Mark's viltrumite DNA and those powers. They're basically set to be the strongest family in the universe.

even though he does a lot of dumb things cecil isn't wrong for how he tries to handle mark imo. last season everyone was pissed at him for having contingencies for how to kill invincible just for a bunch of evil marks to show up anyway. it never hurts to have checks and balances especially in this universe where you never know what evil shit is coming your way. the way I see it, cecil or other humans can be temperamental and make irrational and extreme decisions because they have less power and other people can step in and stop them. but mark doesn't have that luxury because if he decides to go crazy nobody can prevent him from killing everyone. they have to hold him to a higher standard because he has wayyyy more power and responsibility than everyone else. it's why nobody cares if a baby throws a tantrum but it would definitely be a problem for the president of the country to throw one. a baby's tantrum won't cause much trouble compared to a president's. it's not fair at all but unfortunately that's just how it has to be.

Yeah it’s definitely looking like Cecil was right, granted he makes bad decisions sometimes like with Conquest, but he is definitely right about Mark. Mark is definitely moving towards permanent solutions and he may apply that solution to people or things some may not want him to. And Oliver having to stop him this time may give Mark pause considering he had to teach Oliver not to kill.

We arrive at one of the two parts I dread most in Invincible! I hope they change "that" scene in the show over the next few eps here, there were already some pretty neat changes from the comic in the last 3 episodes. Like Eve's Dad being less of a "disgusting creep" and more of an "Asshole father" towards Mark. I noticed they kind of shifted her Dad from being like his comic self in the first season, to being this new version. He was all "You have to forgive men even when they cheat" in the first season like how he did it in the comics, but now its "Im gonna protect my daughter from freaks like you" Which is still racist/ heroist, but an actual FATHER instead of a gross creep who happens to be her Dad. Also cannot wait to see what the Hell Arc looks like since that is entirely Show Original and the trailer showed us Darkblood back in some crazy ass armor. I wonder if they will pull a twist and the Demons will be allies against the Viltrumites? or if the Demons will just be another enemy for Mark and the others to deal with. AND HOOO BOY Thragg sounds so good. I kind of wish they made him look a bit more... menacing? Something about him looks a litttttlee too "muscular freddie mercury" even though that's basically exactly how he looked in the comics haha. But he does "gentle villain who will kill your whole family without a care" very well!

More Eve than Mark, but absolutely Mark too. It's why I made my long comment hoping they change That* scene and the other one with Eve (tho that would be s5 or 6?). And I hope the new Hell Plotline has some good stuff for one or both of them. Kirkman really just went out of left field during these couple arcs in the comics and just started throwing in Spiderman tier shit at Mark. Mark acts crazy, someone else acts crazy, something crazy happens, etc all to make Mark suffer more.

I mean as someone who has read the comics, I still don't like several of the upcoming events at all. Some of them feel entirely out of character and very "Spiderman story writers" tier. Like they were added in JUST to make Mark suffer/ or to make someone else suffer. I relaly hope they change a few things going forwards (avoiding spoilers of course) not just because of personal beliefs, but also because it just felt very different than how some characters act. I do like the current changes we have gotten for Eve and her Father so far! The Dad went from a disgusting creep talking about how his own daughter is basically sloppy seconds to Mark in the Comics. To how Eve is his daughter and he hates that she's "one of the freaks" but wants her to be safe, and wants Mark as "one of the freaks" to either protect her or leave her alone. A racist asshole father >>>>>> a gross ass racist creep "dad" like he was in the comic. And Eve being scared that her powers are going away and feeling like she is losing a part of herself, and that she is even becoming scared to fly is a much better showing of her fear than in the comics too. It feels like she is terrified of losing half of her identity and doesn't know why, and with the pregnancy reveal at the end, we now know why. I just hope the outcome is different in the show. But even still I love the show and will keep watching it, as another commenter said this might basically be the "Mark and Eve character assassination arc" which would be pretty hilarious and true. yeah that seems like a big oversight, but maybe it is also because of how Eve's powers work and stuff? In the comics they explain it as she hyper metabolizes things to fuel her powers normally. Leading to the funny/ gross line of her going "Yeah if I use my powers a ton I end up needing to shit several times a day" So maybe they are glossing over that but leaving it as the characters know it? So Eve's hormones/ metabolism/ etc are stable, but its effecting her powers instead and Rudy didn't think about that? (He'll never be Rex. Never! Neveeeerrrrr!)

he did lie though. he used a random "Rock man LLC" company name on the contract to hire Invincible. Isotope (his teleporter henchman who was likely actually working for Machine Head the entiiiiire time/ at least ever since they broke him out of prison) even says before Oliver arrives "im not sure this is gonna work again Boss" And then Titan goes "Nah it will Imma just tell him my family is in danger and Invincible will do whatever" Titan is being a dip shit and trying to lie and manipulate Mark, and Oliver didn't know who Titan was, only that "The Dragon!" is the scary guy who beat up Mark and Titan didn't even bother telling Oliver until they were already there. So Titan wanted to manipulate Mark, and DID lie to Oliver.

Character assassination in several places Fizzy. Eve is very strong and independant normally, it's part of her entire thing being pissed at Rex, her Dad, and Mark in the previous seasons. Everyone tries to go "You are a woman, let me protect you/ tell you what to do". And she refuses to listen and does what she wants, which she does learn from like the playground park incident. Like she gets pissed off at Mark because he hides the fact the alternate future Eve says that not knowing if Mark loved her drove her crazy, and Eve gets pissed at both Mark and at alternate future her. And yet even as hardheaded/ hotheaded as she is, Eve is ALSO super caring and understanding normally, even when Rex got hurt she rushed to see him, and she forgave Mark rather quickly but told him not to lie to her or hide things from her again. But then if they keep a few things in this coming arc and a few arcs in the future, Eve just suddenly acts soooo differently than her usual and while you absolutely can argue "Well how would you react if XXXX happened!?" it just feels like a massive "Spiderman Writers" moment by Kirkman to have someone act badly JUST so Mark can suffer more/ some character can suffer more. I won't name specific scenes as I don't want to spoil future arcs/ arcs that may be changed a lot even when we get there. But I *could* name at LEAST 4 times where Eve suddenly becomes terrified damsel in distress/ she lashes out horribly at Mark and doesn't listen to a thing he says which is so unlike the normal her.

Cecil's point is that, Mark is to strong to go off the handle. If he ever breaks, they'd have a Psychotic viltrumite who'd just do whatever he wants. Cecil wants it so Mark doesn't have to face the repercussions of killing by having final say on if he does or not. That way he can just point to Cecil and say "you said too". Military structure is the same way, you are responsible for the orders you give. Now you can say no to an unlawful order, but Cecil seems to want their to be no question when he tells them too, which is fair as long as he faces the weight of those actions. Only he needs to bear the consequences and they can keep saving the world.

Tbf, Titan isn't trying to kill innocents, eat people, or enslave cities left, right and center. He only seems to kill or rule other gangsters.
