Power System Time: There are 3 sword styles and there are 7 levels. Level 1 Beginner Level 2 Intermediate Level 3 Advance Level 4 Saint Level 5 King Level 6 Emperor Level 7 God The three sword styles are Sword God Style Direct and Speed North God Style Random and Creative Water God Style Defense and Counter Ghislaine is a Sword King, Isolde is Water King which is rare. Nina, Jino, and Eris are Saints, Auber is an Emperor which is super rare. Redia and Gal are God ranks which there can only be 1.

Btw they weren’t close by (at least by modern standards). It’s not stated in the anime but it took around a month and a half for Nina to reach the academy where Rudy is (about a 3 month round trip). I mean everywhere takes a while on horseback so for their standards it’s a manageable trip but yeah a pretty sizable distance still.

Defeating a great power results in taking their place on the stone tablet and in the ranking. if 2 great powers battle, they switch rankings if the lower rank wins

Adding some paul context cuz he's one of the other recognizable swordsmen, paul would likely not make it above saint level if he was graded in any of the styles(tho he would probably be north). At the same time, paul would likely be able to beat most saints and some kings. He lacks the skill with the blade itself to reach those ranks, but in a fight he would go much higher. Also if you compare his skill against monsters in particular to other saint level users he would eclipse them, and probably kings.

Ramon Fax! Gave out all the facts, would like to add to those facts that the same thing applies to magic. Specifically to each type of magic. Rudy can cast up to Saint tier level spells in all magic except for healing, and I believe barrier magic. However, the way he uses his magic you might actually place him in Emperor tier in terms of mages. Also he does become capable of using Imperial tier spells at some point, just don't remember when.

North God style is the only style where there can be multiple God ranked warriors. Im actually not sure how the North style functions as an actual school of swordsmanship though. Like is only one God tier considered the head of the school, and can designate who has reached what tier, or can any of them designate an individual King or Emperor in North style if they deem them worthy 🤔?

Pretty sure it's been 3-4 years since Eris left Rudy. Broken hearted mage arc was 2 years of adventuring with Sol and his gang, and then another year or so doing all that stuff at the magic academy. As of this season Rudy is around 16-17 with Eris being 18-19.

The sword styles are like Rock Paper Scissors. Sword god style is about hitting hard and directly, masters beat their opponents by using Sword of Light to hit their opponents before they can react. Water god style is about evading and parrying, masters can see their opponent's intention by their aura and micro-expressions to see exa tly how they move and how to counter before the fight starts. They are usually able to counter the sword of light if they are fast enough. North god style is about being unconventional, masters use the powef of ninjutsu and trickery. Masters lose to Sword god style as they can't do much if they are beheaded the second the fight starts, but beat Water god style as parrying isbless effective against pocket sand.

In the novel they explain that Paul was advanced rank in the 3 different sword styles. The move that Isolde used on Eris in their first fight was the same one that Paul used to knock Rudy out when Ghislaine came to get him back in season 1 which is a really cool detail.
