The show really emphasizes the ferocious nature of dragons and how they have a mind of their own even Caraxes and Daemon. They have an incredible bond and even then at times Daemon struggles to control Caraxes. Fun fact technically Daenerys dragons are wild dragons they weren’t raised in the dragon pit by the dragon keepers taught to serve and obey hence why she had so many issues keeping them in control especially Drogon.

It’s also hard with the dragons because their passed down through Targaryen children, keeping that power isolated but giving it to 2 randoms (not Adam he cool) it’s very risky they can give it to any of their children.

100% as Rhaena is supposed to be the last dragon rider with her dragon morning. Nettles rode sheepstealer and then she ran away to the vale and her along with sheepstealer were never seen again. Very anti-climactic this probably means sheepstealer will actually do something during the war as in the books sheepstealer was kinda useless for a while.

Yeah, the show is making a lot of unnecessary changes just for the sake of making changes. I can't stand seeing Rhaenyra and Alicent in scenes together anymore because it feels like an episode of "Bridgerton," ever since I saw a comment about it being like that, I can't unsee it. It just feels unnecessary after everything they've gone through together. She's probably going to end up in her small counsel. Too much death and destruction has happened because of the 2 of them for the show to be acting like they're Naruto and Sasuke. Their beef should be well seasoned and eternal.

There really needs to be a better balance. Rhaenyra and Daemon kind of expect Ulf to just be honored to serve in their army, but that's not how it works. He's just a regular guy and doesn't care much for titles that don't offer any real benefit. Last episode, Rhaenyra told Hugh she'd give him and his wife a house or an apartment, I can't remember, but my point is she needs their loyalty and she doesn't treat them like she needs them. She's busy trying to please the commoners. They can't do much for her, and she's spurning the nobles who will keep everything in line.

FYI guys since the start of season 2 till now is not a very long time it’s like 2-3 months if that, it’s a really short amount of time remember the rat catchers were killed s2 ep 2 they were brought down after 2-3 weeks by Aemond after the Aegon fall and since then it’s hasn’t even been a month. So yes it’s another direct heir to Aegon.

Knowing where things go with the story, it’s interesting to see how they’re setting up certain events given the changes they’ve already made. Also ‘gelding’ is the name of a male horse that’s been castrated (as opposed to a stallion) so part of that soldier’s punishment was to be castrated or gelded.

The amount of changes the writers make from the source material is crazy. They make everyone except Rheanyra and Alicent way more evil than they are in the books, meanwhile Rheanyra and Alicent are only portrayed as victims of men and are given no agency. Daemon was never the psychopathic murder he is portrayed here in the books. Also, the amount of SAs they are randomly adding into every episode is ridiculous. I can understand people who didn’t read the source material not picking up on all the issues with the story, but as a book reader they have completely butchered 80% of the story with the changes they have made.

Look at Rhaenyra's order to the Goldcloaks, ordering them to quell the growing sedition amongst some of the commoners seemingly loyal to the Greens, and the slandering of her children. Now she ordered them to handle the situation. She obviously didn't mean to sit down with them and have a dialogue. I am quite confident that the show will exonerate Rhaenyra of any misdeeds committed by the Goldcloaks, by asserting that they misinterpreted her directives and employed excessive, unnecessary force. Because the show does it all the time.

Sheera's astuteness is commendable. This marks the second instance in which a supporter of Rhaenyra has requested a favor, only to be dismissed. While Ulf the White's approach may have been audacious, his message highlights a critical issue: despite the Crown's appropriation of resources from loyal noble subjects, who were instrumental in sustaining the Kingdom over providing for its populace, a segment of the commoners remains disaffected. Fulfilling some of Ulf's requests and assisting those who frequent the taverns could significantly bolster loyalty. It appears she prioritizes those who cannot offer support over those who have demonstrated their allegiance. Yes, the nobles sided with the greens; they didn't have much of a choice, decisive. All she has to do is keep them happy, and they'll stay loyal as long as she's loyal to them. King Viserys may not have favored everyone he collaborated with, but he recognized the importance of maintaining order and working effectively with individuals he might not have personally liked. It's a bold strategy, Cotton! Let's see if it pays off for them.

As a non book reader, yeah that stuff is very noticeable in those moments, I can only imagine they really want you fall for the typical agenda certain writers like to do in like most TV shows and Movies. it is a problem most directors have when trying to portray women and men cause they simply don't want you to like all the characters unlike early game of thrones, you didn't know who to like till later on you can see who you are meant to not like and like, which is very obvious heavily which they like to imply in the shows compared to the books, which is one of my pet peeves.

Ulf isn't intellectually intelligent, but he is emotionally intelligent. Because of his commoner upbringing he knows what the average person wants in this society. And yes, his idealized perception of what it means to be a noble clashing with reality makes Ulf a good character to follow.

The show has improved a handful of characters from the source material (Viserys, Aegon), while (sadly) severely damaging almost the entirety of the rest of the cast. They turned a morally complex situation into clearly defined, black and white good guys (every woman is a victim) and bad guys (every man is an evil oppressor). Everyone comes off as less intelligent and less competent than they were in the books. Alicent has bafflingly been made into an outright traitor to her children. The writers began the show by changing the nature of Alicent and Rheanyra's relationship from evil step-mother and step-daughter to childhood friends, and this decision has affected negatively nearly every plot point of the story. They are supposed to be mortal enemies, yet the show has made them forgive each other over and over again (despite both being responsible for unforgivable acts against each other) like this is some doomed saphic love story. The show isn't "bad", but it could have been much, much better if they didn't write so much fanfiction into it.
