I think it’s less that Break is weak at night and that as the two twins who “sunder day and night” the morning twin, Asa, is weaker at night and the night twin, Yuru, is weaker during the day. Their names mean morning and night respectively.

I don’t remember if it’s been noticed/addressed, but Asa & Yuru look different from their parents, I wonder why that is. Same eye color as their father, but the Dad’s got like a silvery-grey thing going on, and the Mom has brown hair. Yuru’s blonde & Asa’s got black hair. I wonder if the hair is related to their powers of break & seal 🤔

It’s probably related to their births as The Sundering Twins. Everything about the daemons is all about duality and leans heavily on the concept of Yin-Yang. Yuru, the Night, has golden hair like the dawn; while Asa, the Day, has pitch black hair like a moonless night. Also, in Taoism, where the concept of Yin-Yang comes from, men are usually Yang, which is fiery and the energy of the day; while women are Yin, which is cooler and the energy of night. The Twins’ being reversed by Yuru being night and Asa being day is probably an extension of the symbolism from their hair.

Asa being weak in the dark is probably why Higashi kept her in that cell like that. I still have no idea why they kept her locked up like that. But I guess if I understood why crazy ass cults did the things they did, I’d probably be in one.

Left originally left the sword in her chest because that keeps it out of Ivan’s hands. He’s skilled enough that if the sword isn’t pinned down like that, he WILL get it back. As for why she didn’t immediately get rid of it when it became dangerous? Shock at what he did? Cause I can guarantee that the guy I’m fighting doing that would force me to pause in that situation. That was wild and the last thing I expected.

When Yin-Yang captured them, they specifically trapped Asa in the dark space and Yuru in the bright space. I don’t think that was just random.

Asa literally means morning and Yuru literally means night, but even more significantly it also indicates when they were born: Yuru was born 1st during the night and the Old Lady told his mom she had to hold the other child until the morning so that they could be the leaders of the Tsugai, which then was when Asa was born. Even further, Yuru has shown that he indeed is at home/in his element and more powerful in the dark at night, which means that Asa is more powerful during the day.

For easier reference in the future, morning = Asa (朝), night = Yoru (夜), but he's named Yuru instead to symbolize that he has Okinawan descent since that's how Okinawans pronounce it (their mom is from Okinawa) So from here, the opposite current time of the day to their name would be when they're weak

You probably forgot, but it's not new information that Asa is weaker at night and Yuru in the day. Also, Dera can't just say anything and give his location away. He is supposed to be back-up and a last resort. Giving up his position would be stupid. And their goal isn't to kill Ivan unless Yuru's life is in danger or Yuru asks him to as discussed. Plus, he had enough faith in Yuru figuring out it's a lie. Ivan is a formidable opponent, but their best lead. They can't jus kill him without their hands being forced. And Right and Left would not want Yuru to sacrifice a lead for his parents just to save one of them when they haven't exhausted all their options yet.

She left the sword inside so that he didn’t have two swords anymore to fight with obviously. It doesn’t do any damage to her to keep the sword there and to actively makes him easier to fight so why wouldn’t she keep it there? It’s not like she knew the swords have yet another extra ability that would work in that exact scenario lmao
