nah i can see wife’s side with the hotel room shit. it not shane’s money either but of course i would want my money back or my room fs but i get just wanting to enjoy the honeymoon and every conversation u have is about the room when u just wanna have fun. if it means so much to him go downstairs and talk to the guy and get a refund. he sat there and waited for her to come back to hotel room to start talking about it instead of dealing with it the whole time she was at the pool. she made it clear it doesn’t matter to her. just go fix it and stop whining i don’t understand

I don't think the brother lacks a backbone i just think he's comfortable in that enclosed space and he may be autistic. The horrible sister mentioned he was stimming unless that was another cruel joke on her part . He doesn't deserve to be shoved in a small windowless room even if he was comfortable but his mom doesn't want him to shoved in there by her sucky daughter and friend. Also if its swelling and pain in his lower region if he doesn't have an STD he could have cancer based on what we saw in this episode. The lack of concern from the wife is crazy. But they must be going through the motions at this point of their marriage 😅

I'll try not to say too much. I went in completely blind, which IMO made it much better. I really like how underneath there is always this unsettling feeling, like something is trying to explode but the characters keep trying to hold it down or ignore it, but it's still building up. I really like how I feel the show could go genuinely anywhere at all times. I like how it's often ambiguous what the show wants us to feel or what genre is dominantly unfolding more than the others. The show interests me for reasons I can't quite explain. On the flipside, I think sometimes some things fall flat. Sometimes things are teased but they don't go off as expected. The buildup is sometimes better than the conclusions. And overall S1 and S2 are OK and S3 kinda below average. Overall I am glad I watched as it's very unique, and will definitely watch the next season at some point, but it won't be a priority.

Considering this is hawaii and her name is lani and is working in a resort built on the coastline. Like many other hawaiians I will assume lani is in a financially fucked situation. And *needed* to finish the rest of her workday for pay, even though infamously these resorts pay indigenous people pennies. And there's a whole socio-political issue of these resorts being built on coastlines while native hawaiians can only afford to live in the mainland.

lool at the caption. Yep. Looking back at this I'm realizing now how much the daughter's friend reminds me of the first Claudia's actress in iwtv. And another show by same creator/director of this that matches the same vibe is Enlightened (I actually liked this better than White Lotus but I'm a fan of both). it got canceled years ago too soon unfortunately. The way he did the cinematography and comedy for both shows is amazing.

Yeah. It's the main thing that has kept me from going to Hawaii. I don't wanna further aid the shitty system. But I did see a group that basically it's a Hawaii vacation, but you go to help the locals/natives rebuild homes and clean up the coastline. If you're looking for "ethical tourism" ideas, I suggest looking into it.

I think that the wife, coming from a middle class background, doesn’t have much reference for that kind of ultra wealthy setting, and for her this suite is just as good, if not better than the other suite. She sees it as a fantastic deal, she’s content with the whole experience, and think it’s wild that her husband is losing out so much of their time, because this level of wealth is so outside her frame of reference she doesn’t feel like they are being screwed over. Also, her and her husband are not the ones paying.

I used to be a manager at a Fairmont resort, and I saw this all the time. Couple on a honeymoon, one having a certain standard and the other being extra picky while the other is extremely happy if not mind-blown (and it's usually the case of being from two different upbringings). The husband was actually justified in his expectation and it's up to the hotel to have been used to guests like this on a daily basis. The manager here handled it partially right, but he should have been more truthful and in addition to covering the cost difference, they should have offered food & beverage credit alongside either a spa package or discount on a future stay (combined with a guarantee to get an upgraded suite at the hotel or sister hotel). I still work in the hotel management industry and I am really good at "guest recovery", happy guests with minimal financial loss.

Bruh I can't believe this is even a debate. Many hotels mess up bookings, it's not that deep. You get a refund from them or show receipts to your payment provider and get a partial refund. 99% of hotels wont even argue about it. Have people arguing never booked a hotel room or something? Lol. That's why Roshi and Sheera are weirded out, it's fine for you to expect to get what you booked, whether you paid for it or your parents gifted it to you. Also some people spend a lot of time planning these things so it's a bummer when hotels mess it up.
