This episode is almost directly like Waltz for Venus. Rocco died trying to get medicine for his sister by stealing from the mafia. His sister even knew that he died at the end when she didn’t see him just like the mom in this story. They both even say that they knew something like this would happen because they did bad things.

Samurai Champloo had been my favorite anime ever since first seeing it on Adult Swim ages ago. #ripNujabes

Selling brickls never works out for the little guy

I thought we were gonna get 3 episodes of Geass and Slime a week? Maybe I’m confused, someone update me haha

“I’m not telling his mom shit. I’m going about my business”. Dead. I was in tears

Susana Canales

Yeahhhhh. I really choke up during this episode. I hated that he died. If he had just surrendered and didn’t panic, he would’ve been arrested but alive. His mother wouldn’t have had to cry over her dead son. Better than death. But no. There was really no getting out of that situation once he pulled his knife again.

Oh yeahhh. You’re right. Guess there really was no getting out of that situation alive except escaping. Poor kid

Boy gets stabbed Roshi: Wow! This show is great

kurumi Tokisaki

This is like the cowboy bebop episode with the boy and his sister.

So true. This is a depressing episode because the story is not wrap with a pretty bow. It gives us the harsh reality of good people in desperate situations. sad :( I am glad he made one friend who will remember him.

FragZone

How do Roshi's jokes keep coming true? lmao

Deon

We can just starve and die😂😂😂😭😂

I remember samurai champloo being my favorite anime way back when i first started watching anime... it seems like its taking back its rightful place lol. Also I knew i heard the outro instrumental from somewhere it was the instrumental to the song "calligraphy" by noveliss

KimKaiRen

This episode got me teary eyed when I first watched it. It feels surreal watching it again after so many years

Jpeg

I mean,at least he didn't forget

I'm just saying thats not how the world works, there are many countries with a legit social security system. It's perfect for cases like this. ^^'

There’s more 3rd world countries than 1st world countries. There’s only a handful of European and Canadian countries that have such social programs for healthcare.

this is late as shit but i've never seen anybody mention noveliss outside of his comment sections, shout out to you, you have great taste. kenjutsu under the moonlight is one of my favorite underground rap albums, that's the one where he only raps over nujabes/samurai champloo beats. it has "calligraphy" on it

ComeTseMe

Ahhh Johnny Yong Bosch right before he did Bleach and Eureka 7
