Unless I'm misremembering, Lelouch doesn't actually know Suzaku pilots the Lancelot right? There was that moment where CC was touching them both and got the crazy visions in Narita, but I don't think Lelouch saw Suzaku at all.

So something to keep in mind is that Lelouch doesn't have much if any formal Knightmare frame training or experience so its not so much he's in trash knightmares as he is trash at basic knightmare frame combat and as a pilot of these machines
