If your brain freezes when you try to talk sexy, you’re not alone. Dirty talk isn’t about saying something wild right out of the gate, it’s about sharing what feels good in the moment.

Start small. A whisper like “that feels amazing” or “don’t stop right there” goes a long way. Describe what you like, what you want, or what you see. The magic isn’t in the words…it’s in the tone and timing.

If words feel awkward, try a low moan, a breathy laugh, or your partner’s name said just right. That’s communication too!

Dirty talk is simply mindful talk with a sexy twist, tuning in to your sensations and letting them spill out. Practice makes pleasure ❤️

Tell me, how do you feel about sexy talk? Let me know in the comments below.

Dirty talk for the sake of dirty talk is where people find it awkward to do. Sorry talk because you're saying what you feel in the moment just tend to flow naturally.

I've always been so uncomfortable with dirty talk. It's just not my personality. But these tips are definitely more along the lines of something I can handle.

Exactly my point, when you try and talk dirty it counts it unnatural and forced, if you just let it happen in the heat of the moment it's hot and sexy

I don't think we've ever talked sexy during sex. I once asked J how I could pleasure her and she replied "Men know". I most certainly didn't know as my three previous partner experiences just did not go there. Years later I mentioned this and she was honestly surprised to realize how little experience I'd had. I really would have welcomed hints rather than just randomly fumbling around with whatever my limited imagination came up with. What is funny is that after recovering from being castrate I suddenly began talking dirty at times other than sex. Surprised the heck out of me, but her girlish giggles are sweet to hear.

I talk to my psychotherapy clients so often about this—as a check-in I ask them; “do you communicate at all during sex?” Most people respond with a definite “nope!” So I wonder if you are able to point to any books/info to help people understand why their brain freezes during sex? I always just explain it in terms of fear but surely there’s more I’m missing.

I would agree with you, it's fear or anxiety about how their partner will respond. There are two books I recommend: Sex Talks by Vanessa Marin, LMFT and Tongue Tied by Stella Harris

Yep, just let yourself go and enjoy the moment and all of that happens naturally
