Penile sensation changes after Peyronie’s surgery can feel unsettling, and you’re not imagining it. In today’s Ask Dr. Susie G video, I walk through why this happens and what you can do to support sensation recovery.

The three common surgeries for Peyronie’s are plication, plaque incision with grafting, and penile implants. Each one can stretch or irritate the nerves that run along the top of the penis, which may lead to numbness, tingling or decreased sensation.

The encouraging part is that nerves respond well to gentle, repeated sensory input. Think of it like rehab for your penis. In the video, I share simple sensory integration strategies to help retrain sensation using vibration, temperature, light touch, manual massage (check out this video for suggestions) and even a pinwheel. Slow, consistent practice tends to work best.

Your body is adaptable and this process can support meaningful change.

Thank you for the response and video.

Dr. Susie, I don't have peyronies but I struggle with lack of penile sensation which results in delayed ejaculation. A few years ago I bought the Manta penis vibrator that you recommended in one of your videos. I use it occasionally but will consistent use of this vibrator help restore penile sensation?
