Theda, Macy!!!!!! First caller Aaron from this episode!!! I just… can’t… thank you both enough. 💜 I ran it back several times to absorb in parts. Had to stop every now & then to gather myself from cathartic overwhelm. To laugh at the lighthearted parts (which brought levity), & to learn about some incredibly helpful concrete truths (which are invaluable & takes so much earnestness on y’all’s part). You can only know those truths by experiencing them & be willing to recount them to others - and I don’t take that for granted, from the bottom of my heart. I was seriously so struck by ya’lls’ sincerity & when I woke up this morning, I felt excited about life. My first HRT appointment has been set for Monday, May 22nd.

follow up: i went to art school, got an MFA, just finished adjuncting art classes, am broke, and am now in my forties with student loan debt, and have arthritis lol. If you want to go to art school, have a trust fund or marry rich. xoxo

hey doll- fellow incessant commenter here 😂 your question really struck a chord with me because im in a similar rut... the combo of the scary bills, my family, the fear of looking busted, and my own doubt about the extent of my dysphoria (and whether transitioning would even help) makes the decision to start hrt very hard. I called in a while ago and asked what helped Macy and Theda make the "plunge" into transitioning, which I think was the one call they didn't want to answer... you asked it in a much more eloquent way than I probably did, LOL. But it is so helpful and inspiring to hear that someone else is feeling the same way and is going for it. I am so rooting for you ❤️

(So right back at you - thank you for your openness & reaching out to connect. 🥲♥️) I literally had to type out my voicemail message and read it off of my notes app. I was anxious from all directions but especially had the similar fear of essentially asking them to revisit potentially painful parts of their own experience. I think the extremely candid way they answered has such helpful information that hopefully anyone in a similar spot can listen & gain something from it, regardless of who it’s directed at, you know??
