Can I Ask You A Question? (Patreon)

This post is for my free members because I am genuinely curious.

If you are a free member, why? Are you waiting to see what is uploaded, waiting for something specific, etc. I'm just asking because I've always wondered. I know I've done at least two movies that are available to free members but other than that, I don't offer anything and I'm a nosey person so I'm just wondering lol

If you'd like to provide more information but don't want to comment in down below, I've attached a link to a form where you can do so!

(this is going to be so embarrassing if none of you comment but oh well lol)

At the end of the day whether you're a free or paid member, I'm just happy and appreciative that you're here! I saw a screenshot on my phone from 2 years ago when I was so shocked that even 200 people were members (both paid and unpaid) so the fact that there's over 2,000 of you here now is absolutely insane. That's a lot of people perceiving me... but I love you all and the community we have here!

For me the free subscriptions are a way for me to keep a shortlist of potential patreon subscriptions for when there's some financial room to add one. At the moment I'm constrained to spending x per month on Patreon stuff but when I have the oppertunity to expand, or if I need to swap a subscription out for another, having a list of favourites on hand makes the job much easier.

At the end of the day, it’s all about affordability. I love your reactions to many things. But the financial part is the hard part. It also does help that there are certain things I like seeing you react to. A lot of reactions I’m not particularly interested in seeing. Not because of you but because of the content of the reaction. Of course I just recently did pay for a membership due to wanting to watch a certain thing. So this comment is moreso for the past. Tho if times become hard, that membership might go bye bye 😅

I think you’re a very entertaining creator, so I like to keep tabs on what you’re doing in Patreon. As far as paid versus unpaid, it started depends what your releasing and what shows you’re watching.

I imagine it's all about affordability. I am a paid member, but usually I'm looking for very specific show or content reactions. Animations here and there like if I see someone reacting to attack on titan, 86, vinland saga, cyberpunk, one of the big 3, avatar, arcane, star wars animations I will usually subscribe. Some live actions like game of thrones, fallout, shogun. Some bigger movie/tv franchises franchises like star wars, jurassic Park, lord of the rings, etc. And I'm also appealed by game trailer reactions as well as certain other things like informative documentaries or just really fun but informative content like reactions to geography, history, science. You've hit a lot of the nails on the head, but depending on what happens after attack on titan and certain movies, I might also unsubscribe just to save money until you get back content I prefer since this economy is hurtful

I have been a paid member on your patreon and I enjoyed it immensely. But personal circumstances (namely having my first baby, a girl btw) has shifted my spending priorities a tad. I am now here to show support even in that small psychological (?) capacity and to keep the channel in my lists for future upgrades. Hugs from greece.

I'm not a free member here, but I am for some other creators. Usually, it's because I joined for specific content that I've already watched and they don't have anything current I'm interested in, but I want to see what they publish in the future.

I have followed your YT channel for a few months, since LOTR, and really like your intelligent and witty vibe. I am a book reader myself and so I like to hear about what you're reading and your thoughts on what you have read. I recently joined the free tier on Patreon just to see what the content here was like and what I might be missing out on. I haven't had time to really look into it, but when I do, I imagine I will be upgrading. I am still trying to find out if you ever got around to reading The Way of Kings also, and the rest of Stormlight.

I follow way too many people to support at the same time, I keep people I'm probable to support in free follows. You got me with your Arrival reaction, but I'm not into cartoons or superheroes, even if your reactions would still be enjoyable. I saw Knives Out is up as a result of this free post, if a TV show I liked appears in my feed here, or a series of movies like this accrue, I'll know I should sign up.

Same here. When i see a content/series/movie that I’m interested in, then i subscribe to a higher tier. Then if there’s nothing ongoing that i like, i just go back to free tier. Rinse and repeat. That’s what i do to all the creators i follow here.

I was a paid member briefly and I like your reactions, but it seems like I'm not interested in the same sort of content as most of the paid members here. Maybe it wouldn't matter as much if you posted more content, but you don't do very many new reactions each month so when those are overwhelmingly reactions to the same superhero movies that every other content creator is reacting to it gets pretty boring. I love Spider-Man, but there are only so many times that I can watch those movies, ya know? I know you have to keep the crowd happy, but maybe consider doing some themed polls or something that limit the types of suggestions. It could be something as easy as "horror" or "drama" or "movies directed by women" or "movies with X actor". That sort of thing. Anyway, to answer your actual question, I'm staying on as a free member because you do post things that I'm into occasionally and eventually there will be enough content that I'll resubscribe for a bit to check it out. Best.

I like having the updates because I get them as emails and I get to see what new things you're working on. It's also a reminder to eventually throw money your way when the time is right. You've talked about a few exclusives which I want to see. And having gotten into your stuff with the MCU videos, I'm consistently curious about other scenes you react to. That might be a bit cliche to be interested in the Marvel stuff, but hey, you give amazing reactions, so I want more of them. :P Sonyway, I won't ramble too much more, but I do really like you're very consistent with making things. I also was really inspired by some of your videos on Gina Reads, your wheel video really did help me a lot in getting my writing motivation back, so I'm grateful for that. I really hope you keep doing more of those videos too. But either way you're a fantastic person and I'm glad I discovered your channels.
