They definitely didnt word it as "my friend is working with him" in the manga when Raizou talks about Raichi lol but since we do know where he is, the fact that he said it like that is hilarious to me 😂😂 Quite honestly, for the first like third of this episode, I totally forgot about Nori until they panned to him on the desk lol. I feel so bad. This is kind of an unimportant point, but I can never forget about it. In baseball, whether a run is "earned" or not is actually its own type of stat. So this run that Ichidai gets, because it only happened off of fielder errors, in Sawamuras stats as a pitcher, it would be recorded as an "unearned run". It wasnt earned off of skill and ability, it was earned off error. It doesnt change anything about the score but I always remind myself of it with this because Sawamura has been throwing such a dominating game. I know you complain about the end of that episode and where it stopped, but they were actually very nice to us lol. In the manga, that ends in a FAR meaner cliff hanger that ill tell you about later 😂😂 Im so excited to see that the next episode is called High Voltage. Thats my favourite chapter from the manga lol. I hope they translate it well. I think its great to note that this episode really showcases why a lot of pitchers would rather chase after runs over defending it. The mentality changes completely. Its so much easier to have hope that your batters will do something and you guys can get a run as long as you keep pitching well. When youre the ones in the lead by 1 run in the 4th inning, its still a long way to go to hold onto that run and often pitchers end up relaxing a but subconsciously when your team is in the lead. Sawamura is still like a tiger chasing a pig and Amahisa isnt in that state of survival anymore. Ryous face when Zono makes the error lmao. Its a good thing Zono wasnt on the team back when Ryou was. He wouldve been eaten alive. Also, Sawamura HAS done a pick off before! Theres a game in season 2 where Sawamura comes in after Furuya to take over and theres a runner on first. He seems like hes really focused on miyuki and the batter but he ends up throwing to first base and picking the runner off. Its so good 😊 I LOVE that framing scene so much. I mean honestly, real life framing has gotten ridiculous lately with how far from the zone they catch the ball and try to make it look like a strike, but I love that they touched on it and how they acknowledge that Miyuki is also improving as a catcher. I think a lot of people see Miyuki as the best high school catcher and feel like that means he cant improve but clearly he doesnt agree. Even in the manga that scene where Chris clenches his hands watching Sawamura gets me. He wants to catch for him so bad 😭😭😭 sometimes i get so conflicted on if i want Sawamura to follow Miyuki to the pros or Chris. I know you cant watch the next episode on Sunday but im very excited!

“My friend is working with him” sounds like Raichi was handed over to a mafia don or is in a Bleach-style Shonen getting trained, hahaha!! Poor Nori; I feel so bad for him as well. Oh wow – that is INTERESTING to note about the “unearned run” – interesting indeed! At least it helps for Sawamura! But oohhhh yes, Ryo looked ready to MURDER Zono! That is a great analogy of Sawamura vs. Amahisa with the pitcher “race!” Miyuki would like to say Amahisa is a pig, haha! Ahh, I need to look up that pickoff from Sawamura now!! And Miyuki improving as a catcher? We love to see it! Ahhh, honestly, I think that Sawamura could follow Chris in the pros FIRST – get some good bonding in and improve his skills under Chris’s mentorship – and THEN end up with Miyuki – can we have the best of both worlds?! Hahaha, I was being a grumpy bear for parts of the episode but I’m excited for Episode 9! *does happy dance*

Honestly, these episodes are just flying by. Just when I get settled into one, it's over! And there are so many good moments! Of course, Kuramochi's catch and then his at-bat stand out to me - he's such a delinquent; as does Miyuki's at bat and him just not giving Amahisa the time of day. They really do not like Amahisa! LOL That's right, Miyuki is the final boss, and you can't beat him, Amahisa! Still, Ichidaisan strikes first. Those errors there hurt. These episodes are more visceral to me than philosophical, so I'm going to leave it here for today. But now I'm going in to #9!

SERIOUSLY -- the episodes are going SO fast -- I cannot believe it! How are we already almost three fourths of the way through this cour?! And yes, so many good moments! Kuramochi's catch was FANTASTIC! Such a delinquent and the fact that these two besties (Mochi and Miyuki) having SUCH disdain for Amahisa, who just wants to be pitcher friends with their brother/boyfriend is hilarious to me! But yeah, Miyuki IS the final boss for anyone trying to catch Sawamura's attention! The errors -- ugh, that moment with Zono is palpable! Ryo would have throttled him if he'd been on the field! #9 is really great -- so I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for the comment!
