8:53 not exactly, Luo did have Trust Value. when he first shows it he has 18 8:27 no, as demonstrated with Yang Cheng, affects can happen at any point even with 1 Trust Value, it just depends on what people think you can do.

Something fun about Ghostblade is he was born in Year 0 which means whatever Commision Year it is, is how old he is Also Ghostblade’s name is Wang Yi which is why Nuonuo has Wang in her name

little gg

The moment I saw GhostBlade with his mask off, I'm like: Lu Guang? IS THAT YOU !!!? It can't just be me who thought that right...right?? Like a gloomy version Lu Guang if there's no CXS🤣

Blue buddy

Ghostblade is my favorite character in the show so I maybe bias when I say his wife is awful she expected him to change who he was instantly because she was able to

Ghostblade, my beloved, is finally here! The twist that the guy following Nuonuo was her dad is something that I genuinely never saw coming. I feel for Ghostblade so much. He loves his daughter, clearly, but there are some things that you can't just change about yourself, and I wish the wife would have understood and let him be a part of Nuonuo's life. And that's the thing, isn't it? Ghostblade and his wife, they were comfortable together and I'm sure they care for one another, but with the way they never seemed to communicate for real I can't see that they actually knew or understood each other; and thus, when circumstances changed they were not equipped to make it as a family. The wife didn't understand that her husband wasn't quiet just because, and Ghostblade seemed to think that she was just like him. There was no conversation happening there, either, the wife just came with her demands and no room for anything else to happen. And, sadly, Nuonuo got the short end of the deal being stuck without a father her whole life because of it. Yeah, I think you're right. I think Ghostblade would have been okay becoming "a real family" as the wife phrased it, if only she hadn't mentioned the caring for the parents as well. For how sad this episode actually makes me, it was also pretty hilarious seeing all the ways Ghostblade invented to be near Nuonuo. And that wedding scene had me laughing as well the first time I saw it.

Be Happy

I love Ghostblade so much.. i just wàt to give him the biggest hug .. This is my personnal interpretation to why not he didn’t enter in contact with NuoNuo : Ghostblade didn’t enter in contact with his daughter because imo he didn’t want to put her in danger. As an assassin he has more than 175 kills in his account that we know of, and certainly made ennemies related to those kills along the way so he d rather watch and protect her from afar than put a target on her back But also and most importantly, because he doesn’t view himself as a worthy normal dad, because he *has a problem* and wouldn’t be any good for her and he loath himself for it🥺 he did what an assassin unable to recognize emotions and doesn’t have any social clues does, he kept an eye on her from afar without initiating direct contact I feel heartbroken for Nuo Nuo because not being able to know her dad seems to have affected her, from what we learn rapidly during her dialogues with Lily in ep 13, so i am sure she d rather know him flaws and all than think he died or worse abandoned her. Also, The ex wife was on her phone while in Sex co ed , that’s the only explanation to being surprised while on an active sexual unprotected relationship 🤣 Amazing backstory and character, and wonderful reaction and discussion as always… glad that you liked the last arc and this one better ❤️

Yeah, I think that there could have been a LOT of communication between them before it got to that point and Ghostblade expected that she was like him and thus would feel the same -- BUT, the wife 1.) doesn't communicate with him and expects him to change, like you said, and 2.) lies to her daughter saying he's dead and cuts ties completely with him, which isn't fair to him at all. I felt for Ghostblade by the end of this! Thank you for the comment!

Oh my gossssh, hahaha, the concept of Ghostblade being LG if he hadn't had a CXS is WILD and heartbreaking!! My heart! Thank you for the comment!

romaniablack

Ahhhh, that's an interesting tidbit to note on the year he was born and his name! Thank you for that and the comment!

I really did NOT see Ghostblade being her father! Such a good reveal! I definitely feel for Ghostblade and want to hug him – I definitely think the wife really could have worked to communicate and compromise more with him than completely cut him out of NuoNuo’s life. And yes, Ghostblade and his wife seemed like they had good chemistry but without that communication, there seemed to have been a lot of assumptions and misunderstandings about what they really wanted, especially in the wife not realizing the LAST thing Ghostblade would want would be to live again with his family. Nope, no communication between them and NuoNuo ended up suffering the most in the end because of it. Yeah, I think Ghostblade would have been down to retire and settle down, as long as he didn’t have to go back to living with his family that he despised. The tonal variance in this episode was wild - going from so funny to so heartbreaking so quickly. Definitely one of my favorite episodes so far! Thank you for the comment!!

Ghostblade is SUCH a great character and he deserves ALL the hugs, doesn’t he?! I could see the reason he didn’t get in contact with her – I wish that there was a way that he could communicate or use a phone/paper with others around him – maybe not NuoNuo (that makes sense, like you said) but with the rest of the Hero Commission and everyone else. It is sad that he feels so inadequately about himself. :’) And for NuoNuo to not know her dad is so sad as well – especially after that connection with what she said to Lily in Episode 13. HAHAHA, Honestly, I wondered if maybe she just skipped Sex Ed while on her phone! XD I really love Ghostblade’s character and feel so much for him!! And yes, this arc is SO good so far and I’m digging the arcs with Luo Li, NuoNuo, and Ghostblade as well so far! Thank you so much for the comment!

I think that the gym scene with Luo Li suggests that she gained some trust value under disguise while building her muscles, and the muscles were reduced once people no longer respected her effort as soon as her disguise was removed, so it's like she either needs to be herself and convince those who are around her to support her true self during her gym session or she needs to keep the disguise the entire time. Some audience didn't "get" the part of "whether the stalker in the Begal Alley is DJ Shindig or someone else" in EP13's narrative during the show's original run, as they have watched the character PVs that released before the show aired, and they have assumed that the masked blade attacker is Ghostblade. This assumption has somewhat lifted the suspense for them, and some of those audience didn't like the narrative of "mistaking a new intruder as the old stalker" because of this assumption, based off some comments I've read. I suppose that both benefits and detriments existed in promotion and viewing experience for releasing previews for characters before airing. Ghostblade's real name, Wang Yi (王一), is easy to miss, as it just went by in a random line during the flashback with his family. 一(one) suggests that he's the first (and possibly the only) child of his parents. In the Chinese version, Ghostblade is named Mo Sha (默杀), as in Silent Kill, which might have also contributed to his inability to speak from his believers' trust as he picked the hero name himself. I think that Ghostblade just doesn't like to interact with those who he doesn't care about, and he wants to interact with those whom he cares about in a mutual manner. He was interacting with Zhang Lan through texting prior to her pregnancy, and I feel like he might consider texting no longer a means to communicate with Zhang Lan when she stops fixating on her phone, and they didn't give themselves enough time and space to develop a new means to communicate because of their own conflicts. Ghostblade has his own fixation over his assassin complex and his ideal of killing, and this has affected how he operates in his daily life as well. The time he had spent stalking Nuonuo alone is also the time he didn't get to spend with his family together. Zhang Lan was looking to change from living as two individuals to homogenizing as one family, since she was living in her own world before like Ghostblade and she knew that. I suppose that Zhang Lan is rejecting Ghostblade not only because of his obsession to be a hero (assassin) but also because of his obsession to act alone. She doesn't want his personality or her past personality to influence what Nuonuo could become in her future life. The briefing for Sheng on the phone says, "Sheng, Age 34, 180cm. Mission Details: Whistleblower. Deadline: Eliminate as quickly as possible at all costs. The mission docs will be destroyed after 05:00." (These are the highlights as other texts aren't labeled in Chinese.) The art style applied for Ghostblade's flashback is reminiscent of Director Wong Kar-wai's Step-Printing and Undercranking filmography, and the number-driven narrative in this episode, like the date and kill count, are also seen in his romance film "Chungking Express."

It is really sad to see her work hard and it altered without her consent - truly body horror! Yeah, I’m going to see the PV’s eventually, but I’d rather have my impressions of the show determined by the show itself, and later can view the PV’s and see what that would have been some impressions, then. Thank you for that information on Ghostblade’s name; someone noted that as well in another comment, so I’ll address that in a future intro, but that’s really cool about the Silent Kill translation! True – I would imagine that he would get annoyed by not being able to correct or clarify things for folks, which is why I wondered why he didn’t just write something or text it. Ooohhh, okay - THANK YOU for that information on the screen! Interesting! Noted for Episode 19, which is the next intro I’ll use it for! And that’s cool about the art style used! Thank you for all the information! Super helpful!
