Loved the reaction and discussion! Been looking forward to checking this out, as I hadn’t read this before and would not have picked it up without these reactions. 🥰 Various things I loved: Potentially the whole families beefing, makes it even more Shakespearean 😆 Overall the volume is funny quite often! Was a surprise. Loved the way the way movement is portrayed with the curved lines and then the marker, and in general there are so many different approaches used with different shading or placement on the pages/within the panels, etc. Also… pretty sure they matched belly button casting from the manga to the film 🤣 They’re both much more cool and suave in the film, I feel, in the manga there’s even more tsundere all over everyone 😆 “You’re really not cute! I’m going home!!” 🤣 I loved Taming of the Shrew coming up in the commentary. 😆 I liked the way certain things were moved around in the film in an emotional sense e.g. the phone call while Sugiki is away at the competition “feels” like it is much earlier in the manga than the film, but I don't think it actually is. There's definitely a different feeling pace to the development between the two works, great to experience. This was a lot of fun to go through! Thank you very much for giving the manga a read. 🥰 Looking forward to the next volume! 🌈

Ahhh, thank you so much! I’m so glad that this led to you getting to check out the series! This is VERY Shakespearean - giving off SO many Romeo and Juliet vibes right from the start. I really enjoyed the humor between our leads as well. I loved seeing the differences from the manga to film, and yesss, any chance I can reference Taming of the Shrew, I will take advantage. 😀The way that movement is drawn in the panels is so neat and energized – it creates a great energy and pacing, but I do think the choices they made to move things around in the movie played to its advantage as well! Thank you for the comment! I’m glad I got to this and look forward to reading more hopefully soon in the future!
