Now that Maho has left for the states, Okarin has more time to focus on Kagari and trying to trace back her memories -- and what a wild "goose chase" we're led on today with that! Time is a funny thing, huh?

NOTES: 1.) I realized something about Kagari's "escape" that I'll note in Episode 13's intro, and 2.) I'm trying to be healthier and thus, cutting back on my soda intake for now -- Dr. Pepper may come in the future, though! We'll see! ;)

I've been meaning to say this for a while but Okabe and Kurisu trying to come together in the intro and Okabe chasing her, physically hurts me, more than even their goodbyes lol. This was one of those episodes i did not understand anything haha, you'd think just a "telephone game" episode but it was more confusing than actual confusing episodes, nothing made much sense other than Kagari getting the memory of her mama again. That after credit scene was a huge mind blast, because Makise spent so much time trying to get to that stop with the young Okabe to alter some timelines and situations, no way it suddenly turned to Kagari being there, i refuse to believe everything that complicated with Kurisu turned to a completely different situation. BUT, that was kinda the whole first season of the show, so no surprise there. I was almost waiting for Kagari to be like "this was my mama's and you're my daddy" or some telenovela stuff haha, that's how zero my theory on anything is this season. By the way, Romania, i did not have much free time to listen to all the discussions as i would have loved to, so a question, did you discuss if Kagari might have been Kurisu's when she was first introduced, solely because of the hair or resemblance?

Yeah, this episode really just solidifies for me that Kagari is not one of my favorite characters on this series... so having an episode completely centered around her like this was not my favorite thing. That being said, there were a couple of things this episode did that I did enjoy quite a bit. First of those is the whole idea that the song becomes a timeloop sort of thing. With Kagari being both the ending and beginning of it. That's always a bit of fun, I think. The other thing is finally getting a little bit more on Okabe's family. It might just have been his mother's voice but it was great to finally hear her and get a name. She exists! She is no longer just a mythic creature of Okabe's life xD

Right?! The fact that they are trying to get together there and then cannot – ugh, it does hurt! And yes this episode just went around in circles with everything! I don’t blame someone for getting confused with it all! The comparison of Kurisu orchestrating the moment to help Okabe get the courage to help Mayuri, and then Kagari being in the same spot to inspire him…in a way that helps Mayuri – it’s bonkers for sure!! Yeah, I agree – next week, I WILL say, I’m really excited, but Kagari is certainly no Kurisu. I did enjoy the song creating a timeloop, even despite the goose chase it all was throughout the episode. At least there was a good bookend, there! And yes, just getting the mom’s voice, name, and some things about his family was great! Hahaha!! Thank you so much for the comment!
