*IMMORTALIZED HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

I knew we'd come back around to Azik at some point, but I was NOT PREPARED for not only his backstory but just WHAT his backstory entailed, as Klein finds himself in a perilous situation that has some potentially life-changing ramifications! Y'ALL. MY BRAIN IS FRIED.

NOTE: LOTS of Time Stamps in YouTube Episode!

Peak episode! Another fan of our glorious Professor was born today 🙂‍↕️ Slight correction: the Primordial Demoness is believed to be an heir to the Original Creator, as in the guy from the Creation Myth The True Creator is the evil hanging one, his people (the Aurora Order) similarly believe that he is the heir to the Original Creator

Ok, straight from the intro, I think you misunderstood someone's comment about Church of the Lord of Storms and Church of God of Steam and Machinery; they DON’T share squads. Machinery Hivemind and the Mandated Punishers are separate; the Mandated Punishers are for the Church of the Lord of Storms, and Machinery Hivemind is for the Church of Steam and Machinery. - Well, I wrote that ready when I was listening to the intro, but I think Old Niel’s classes cleared it up. But you didn’t explicitly mention it, so I’ll keep it here just in case since why delete it if I wrote it already? Tho another clarification on the subject is that Leonard isn’t really connected to Machinery Hivemind, I forgot where you got that impression (been two weeks lol), but I think it was you probably misunderstood because the Nighthawks were doing a joint investigation with Mandated Punishers and Machinery Hivemind on the catastrophes done by Trissy. So he’s not connected to that group any more than anybody else we know. The reason why Klein got that “writing on his skin” was because, as Old Neil explained at the end of his class, when someone looks directly at God, they will be “overwhelmed by immense concentration of information and divine laws” Normally, people die. But because of the Grey fog, Klein somehow didn’t: he was able to keep and understand some of the information, which the donghua visualised with writing on his skin. Klein be like: “I shouldn’t look at gods; I should be careful” Klein: *gets rewards* Klein: I should exploit this God’s blood. Azik is such a lovable character (and half of the Discord fanbase thirst after him, like Be hap-- *gets shot down* ) but he’s great. Love him, and excited to see more of him with you. This discussion really made me wish that we would get to see you read/react to the novel on camera as well, but I like, totally get why we won’t get that. Especially when youre reading one movel already. You have a busy schedule, and novel reactions take a lot of time. Also, I must say I really liked this discussion, even more than other episodes. I won’t elaborate on why. But I really liked some things you talked about. Heh. Anyways, excited for the next episode as usual!!

Ayy, very much look forward to these! Definitely the best blind reaction/analysis I've watched of this show.

Shot TruKk down for snitching 😂😂

Four Sunsets

The reason they had to have shifts for the sun charm was because if you are out off the 15 meter radius of effect range, the countdown for becoming idiots reset. So if they take shifts every 2 hours all of them can have time to reset the countdown time and also leave enough of a buffer in case of emergency where they are forced to spend more time close to the charm. Also, it makes sense that the Evernight cloth couldn't suppress the sun charm because the Eternal Blazing Sun seems to be the exact opposite concept of Evernight. I wrote this part about Chinese Millitary straining in response to a comment on Korean millitary service on Youtube but you might have missed it. Since you brought up millitary training in this intro I thought I could repost it here. I feel that the differences between the two are significant enough that it'll be worth knowing for future context. "Millitary training in China is not the same as millitary service in Korea. It's just a two week training that takes place before the first year of middle school, before the first year in high school and before the first year in university. All students participate, but it's not as mandatory or harsh as Korean service. For example I didn't have to go to the one before university because I went abroad for university, and I only spent one week on the one before high school because girls can skip physical education related classes and activities during our periods (we believe too much exercise would exacerbate cramps and blood loss). Kids with health conditions could also apply to not participate, but even in these cases they would still come and participate in non-strenuous activities because missing out completely could make it harder to fit in with your future classmates. The content of millitary training is usually light martial arts/self defense training plus a lot of marching and discipline drills, nothing too serious. Usually this is the time for kids to learn teamwork, group pride, and how to live alone (how to fold your own blankets, wash your own dishes etc.). At the end of millitary training we would loosen up and have fun, I remember at the end of my middle school training we had an impromptu talent show where students and officers sang songs and danced on the sports field. At the end of my high school training we played games such as hoola hoops, skipping ropes, badminton and tag. Millitary service in China on the other hand has very strict requirements. People have to voluntarily apply if they want to join, and then undergo screening for physical qualities (age, height, eyesight, stamina, weight, no tatoos, etc.) and a background check (education level, no criminal records within three generations in the family, no foreign members within immediate family members). If you meet all the criteria, you must participate in the millitary service for 2 years, after which you can either retire from service or become an actual soldier."

That was a Wonderful reaction and discussion I love this episode because it’s so dense, with Klein near death and especially Azik background story Azik is such an amazing wonderfully written character.. so tragic.. living this eternal cycle of rebirth every many decades, forgetting it all and spending his whole life chasing his fleeting memories… He is shown to be so powerful that his cheer continuous presence provoked the illness of his loved ones…, so powerful yet unable of the simple fact of being with his wife and kid… such a heartbreaking curse for our beloved teacher 💔 The way he kissed his son’s helmet … my heart 🥲 I was a mess the first time i watched this ep and my heart ached for him As you understood it, it was indeed the grey fog that saved Klein when he burnt to a crisp after gazing at the Eternal blazing Sun .. Klein was reckless wanting to explore the Sun emblem and ended up stepping in something quite dangerous But the lucky grimlin not only get out of it with the help of the Grey Fog, but he even had some precious rewards from this experience : disclosure of some of the Sun Pathway sequences names and also a drop of blood of the Eternal Blazing Sun The King of Good and Bad Luck indeed 😂 I loved the discussion so much.. and i m so glad you loved this episode as much as i do

A round of applause for Be Happy and the others! 👏👏👏👏👏 I didn’t end up see Neil’s lessons or anything the first time I watched this series, so I really appreciate seeing that and all the other info the mods share! Also, the Storm god being all about ruthlessly going after people who cross you reminds me of Poseidon from Epic the Musical. Very fitting! Thanks for the video!

Azik is such a cool, tragic character, and I'm so glad that we finally got to his episode. I really like that Klein has that connection with Azik. Even if Azik doesn't really understand what Klein is going through, it makes them both a little less lonely knowing that the other might just understand a little bit of what they are going through. Klein getting literally burn because of his curiosity going just a little too far is such a visual. He is tampering with really dangerous things, and has only survived through sheer luck; so, yeah, I would like him to exercise a little bit more caution in how he deals with things, please and thank you. That being said, Klein getting those things from the Sun pathway is really important, valuable information. i mean, if he can use the information to create an artifact similar to the one he had, well, that could come really in handy. After this, though, I have to wonder if all high sequences reach a certain level of immortality, like Azik, or if it is particular to his pathway. I mean, it would make sense that the closer you get to the higher sequences you become so powerful that you are basically immortal, but I can also seeing it being a perk of that particular pathway.

The skip intro button on Crunchyroll takes you past most of the title cards for the different companies involved in the donghua. Double checked and all the other episodes to come are the same. If you press it there's a couple more title cards and then it shows the tree with the intro to the world of Beyonders. Romania: The Black Knight always triumphs! One of my favourite Monty Python skits 😂 "'Tis but a scratch!" Funny how that can kinda fit here too with Azik's son, only for him it's not a missing limb but a missing head 🥺 I love that as much as Klein sometimes jumps into things without thinking (like divining with the mutated Sun Sacred Emblem and accidentally gazing upon a god), he is also quite cautious and prudent at times. The fact that he first divined to figure out what his next step with Azik should be shows that he does have a more cautious side. They really went off with the battle animation 😍 It looks better than some battle shounen I've seen! But seeing Azik battle all those soldiers on his own is such a terrifying way to show off his strength. I think my face was the same as yours though when we suddenly went from medieval battleground to the assistance of a Titan. And I asked the same question 😂 Definitely did not expect to suddenly go from Kingdom of Heaven/Gladiator-style battle to the Colossal Titan, minus his skin, tearing up the battlefield. Azik slowly walking away from his family, shedding his armour (a symbol of his nobility and his role as a knight to protect and defend), all for their sake so they might live is just heartbreaking. And the choice of OST in that moment was perfect. They really did such a good job with keeping you guessing about Azik. I was so unsure about trusting him, and couldn't believe Klein would trust him so easily when they first met, until this episode and the reveal of more information about Azik's background and character. I love that he's not an enemy but that he's also a much more grey character who is on Klein's side. With such powers and gods in the world I feel like it's more beneficial for Klein to have people in his corner who aren't pure with their morals. The chibis heard you questioning Leonard's whereabouts at the beginning of the episode and so let you get a dose of him in the shorts flirting, I mean working, with Klein😆 I think out of all the gods, based on what Old Neil says, I would choose the Lord of Storms. Being a neutral party most of the time, but dolling out recompense when crossed sounds the best to me 😂 Old Neil's final words about revising and consolidating what we learned feels very tongue-in-cheek. This man knows he just threw so much knowledge at us at once; he's definitely laughing at us being overwhelmed by how much information we were given. Cuttlefish truly creating an entire world, history, languages, and multiple religions just like Tolkien. I feel like in years to come there could be entire degrees at university for Cuttlefish's work, just as there are for Tolkien. Ten-Azik comparisons 🥺🤝🏻 Definitely see the similarities with their losses, how their grief affected them, and even how they choose to live on. Also Azik losing his memories to keep sane feels somewhat similar to the Doctor regenerating. "Praise the sun!" is a gesture I believe from the game Dark Souls. Only vaguely know it because of the Seven Deadly Sins fandom 😆 The fear for Dunn is always balancing out with the awe at how badass he is 😂 Just as the beauty and awe of how detailed the animation is in constant balance with the horror and disgust at how well they animate those gross moments. Not the Boromir comparison Romania 😭 Unlike Boromir, Azik was able to keep going 😢 I do find it funny though that you made that comparison because Azik's army of the dead honestly made me think of Aragorn commanding the dead at the Paths of the Dead. Like minds! That shot of Azik returning home after the battle immediately made Enya's Now We Are Free start playing in my head 😂

Thank you so much for the comment and the kind words!! I appreciate it so much and this series is so much fun to dissect!!

romaniablack

Definitely a peak episode! And yes, I’m such an Azik fan!! Oohhhh, thank you for clarifying with the True Creator vs. Primordial Demonness; that makes sense! Thank you for that and the comment!

romaniablack

Ahhh, yes, I got that they were for different gods, but I thought they were working together – thank you for clarifying that! 😀 Okay, and yes, Leonard in the subtitles said he was working “with the Mandated Punishers and the Machinery Hivemind” and I was thinking when he said that in the episode that he was “part” of that group - glad to get clarification! So thank you again! 😀 Oohhhh, that is a good note about Klein, so interesting! This gray fog being the biggest plot armor so far, but I’m so curious about it! XD But also, Klein should STOP BEING A CURIOUS CAT! Hahahaha, him immediately wanting more deity blood or to exploit it – SIR. I really love Azik and I blame NO ONE for thirsting after his immortal daddy self. Yeah, I don’t know how the novel reactions/reviews will work – we’ll still see on that; maybe it depends on where I’m at with Thousand Autumns by the time we get to it! *drowns in organization* Haha, we’ll see! And ahahaha, that makes me excited that you enjoyed the discussion! That’s so fun – it honestly has me REALLY excited to see where the rest of the season goes for now! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

romaniablack

Hahaha, I don't blame you for thirsting after our immortal daddy Azik! :P

romaniablack

Ahhh, thank you for clarifying that on the shifts and the sun charm! I appreciate it! Thank you for putting that about the military training on here! If I had just “hearted” the comment, it meant there had been a spoiler included as flagged by the mods, so not sure on that one, but I appreciate you writing it out here! And thank you for explaining the differences! That makes more sense!! Thanks for all that and the comment!

romaniablack

Yes, BeHappy and Trukk do a great job moderating this series! I honestly don't know what I would do without Old Neil's lessons; he's a great help in all this! And YESSSSS - the Storm God giving off major Epic: The Musical Poseidon vibes! Glad I'm not the only one that sees that as well! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

romaniablack

Thank you so much!!! This episode was so much fun! SUCH a dense episode!! And getting AZIK! I love his character and his tragedy so much! I just feel for the angst around his character – ugh…I hate that he can’t just live happily with a family or be in a relationship. :’) My heart aches or him as well! Yeah, Klein being reckless and then being like, “Well I survived THAT, so…let’s tempt fate MORE!” XD We’re all like, “KLEIN NOOOO!” XD What a gremlin, indeed! Dunn would be so disappointed! Thank you for the comment and kind words! So happy with this one!!

Be Happy

Ow!! Thank you Rose 🙏🏼🥰

Be Happy

Hahaha i love how we all have the same references becase Enya’s Now we are Free was exactly what i was thinking when i saw that the first time 🥰🤣

Anime Annie

That moment looked far too similar to Maximus dreaming of returning home to his family 🥺

Be Happy

Yes exactly .. especially with the wheat field and them on the horse while he walks *curls on a foetal position to cry*

romaniablack

Azik just so won me over this episode! And yes, Klein having a connection with Azik and then both helping to heal their loneliness – Klein having been “revived” through Zhou with new memories kind of relates to Azik and his memories cycling every so many years. But yeah, that visual of Klein being burned was WILD! Curiosity got the cat and it was brutally animated! However, at least he got some good information out of it – and for us, too! And yeah, I wonder if immortality is a side effect of getting that strong; I mean, if you’re at a “god’s level” of ability, I could see that! A “perk” though…Azik’s existence would call to question if it can be truly viewed as a “perk.” Thank you for the comment!

romaniablack

Ahh that is good to know about the CR Skip button! Thanks for that! I cannot tell you how the “Black Knight” skit was a fundamental development to my sense of humor as a child. My dad, brother, and I quoted Monty Python and The Holy Grail SO much as a kid, which my mother hated because that’s not her style of humor! XD Klein can be cautious but has that catlike curiosity - very relatable! The animation for the battle is SO GOOD in this series! And yeah, definitely makes you realize Azik has it all: looks AND strength? Not fair! 😛And yeah, a giant titan showing up to aid Azik was not on my BINGO card…but then, a LOT in this series was not on my BINGO card, haha!! The scene of Azik walking away and shedding the armor is so heartbreaking and powerful; the OST this episode was AMAZING! And to know now that Azik is this morally gray character - but on Klein’s side - is so nice! DEFINITELY a benefit to Klein!! I’m so glad that Leonard at least appeared in SOME capacity this week! Ooohhh…that’s interesting about the Lord of Storms; I’d have to think about that and answer when we know more about the others! But valid choice! Thank goodness Old Neil is here, though, because I’d be LOST otherwise without his help in terms of getting everything in order! Cuttlefish truly out here just CREATING an entire world Tolkien-style! It’s kind of wild and I would not blame anyone for getting a degree in Cuttlefish (sounds cool, too)! 😀 Yesss, Dark Souls – and the Seven Deadly Sins fandom! My brother has played the game and loves Pride from that series, so yes, That makes sense! 😀 Yes, come on, Doctor Who comparisons! 😀So similar in their designs, here. I will always worry for Dunn, hahaha!! And yesss, Boromir’s death was one that really shook me in high school watching and reading LOTR. But yeah, Azik at least has more of an Aragorn vibe and ooooh, the Paths of the Dead comparisons; okay, I completely see it now! Nice! And ahhh, yes, the Gladiator comparisons – this episode was rolling in the references, but I’m not complaining! Thank you so much for the comment!
