THIS season finale has me wanting the next season ASAP -- I have not felt so strongly for a character like Euini in a while and Qifrey standing up to defend his students has me HYPED beyond all belief! The Brimmed Cap Witch proves that they are not a group to be messed with...hoo boy, what a finale!

I’d definitely be up for a trailer reaction! Poor Euini! He deserved so much better! I hope he doesn’t just get sent off to live as an animal too! Honestly I feel like there should be an exception in pointed hat society for forbidden magic, where you can only perform it if it’s to undo something that happened to a victim of forbidden magic. Gotta balance out the scales somehow! Even if we can’t get him back to normal, I want our girls to be able to do something for him. Richeh can use whatever magic made that tunnel in her room to make a den for him under the atelier, and they can visit him and keep him company until we can somehow force a brimmed cap to put him back to normal! It could happen right? 🥲 Also, I do wonder whether or not the witches in charge knew about the gold statues being alive. Because if they did and were still using that road as a test but not doing anything about the trapped souls down there that’s pretty messed up. Looking forward to the WHA cooking videos! What a season finale. That was really intense. Gosh, I felt so, so bad for poor Enui. He really didn't deserve his courage being rewarded by being violated and abused in such a way. he already had a horrible master that belittle him and did not help him find ways to succeed, and now he had to have his body, his mind - if that little phrase he tells Richeh and Aggot about feeling himself disappearing is to be trusted - hijacked and twisted against himself. I really hate that incorporeal brimmed hat. Seeing the way that brimmed hat tried to manipulate Richeh and Aggot and Enui really made me wonder how they are getting their information. Those were fairly personal struggles that weren't exactly obvious at firts glance for each of the kids, and they nailed it on their first try, I suppose they could just have heard them talking through the test - they did expose a lot of themselves in it, but I'm not sure everything was talked about then. What happened to Alaira, by the way? Is she kidnapped now? Will we need a mission to go save Alaira next? i like her enough from the very short interactions we've had with her to care about what happens to her, I think her character has a lot of potential. Aside from all the body horror and terror of the brimmed hat, I was very satisfied seeing Richeh learn her lesson about needing to broaden her knowledge to be able to truly do what she wants to do. It was a very hard lesson, the way she learned it, but it's going to stick with her for the rest of her life, no doubt. She really can't help Enui with the knowledge she has right now, and that is a really cruel realization to come to. Speaking of, Enui's problem is a really cruel one, isn't it? I mean, aside from all the obvious reasons for it to be awful, it occurs to me that the only way to reverse it, to help him, might be to have someone do forbidden magic on him again, and maybe have to brand him with it permanently; making not one, but two people be condemned for having used forbidden magic. Because waterver spell the brimmed hat put on Enui has to be directly cast on him, right? Which means that to reverse they would have to cast directly on him again, which is something prohibited. An artifact/amulet might work, I suppose, but I can only see that as bein a temporary solution and not real salvation. I'm really curious to see how they handle that whole thing, and all the terrifying ramifications of this one moment. The two impact shots for this episode were gorgeous. I really love how twisted Enui looked on his, and Qifrey looks grave and heroic in his. Very fitting for the both of them. The first time I saw Enui fully transformed in that wolf form, in that impact shot, I could only think of a Japanese Kitsune, with the way he seemed to have many tails and those tails seemed to have eyes. It was chilling, but it made my stomach drop for this poor shy boy that pushed so hard against his own fears to help his friends. Coco, Tetia, and Qifrey falling all the way to the depths of Romonon only to find that the people of Romonon are still roaming around in their twisted gold forms is no less terrifying than what happened to Enui. I don't understand why they are so mad at Qifrey for being a witch, though. Like, yes, of course they would be mad for what was done to them, that makes perfect sense; but weren't they also witches? I would think that would make them hate the witches of Romonon but not all witches. Though, after such a long time living like that, I don't blame them for being bitter and really angry at all witches. Although, there's something that I can't shake out of my head, and that is that wouldn't this people that have been frozen forever in gold remember so much from a time before magic was restricted and there was forbidden magic. I kinda want them to just talk to them and get a lot of info out of them xD That was a really cruel cliffhanger, though. i can't wait for season 2 and to see what they do with everything. P.S. As for you watching the trailer for season 2... I think you'll enjoy it better if you don't watch it and go blind into season 2. I watched the trailer for season 2 and I kinda wish I hadn't so I could go blind myself.

I unfortunately have to vote for no trailer reaction. I’d rather you go into season 2 completely blind ^^ Spoilers! I’m mainly voting this way because the trailer focuses too much on Brimmed Cap Coco imagery which I feel like would just set up Romania with false expectations (considering how much grace she gives to the Brimmed Caps.) So I feel like all of Romania’s analysis on the trailer would be a bit pointless since Coco doesn’t actually become a BC anytime soon :P

I do have a very soft spot in my heart for dear Euini! I read this volume years ago and it stuck with me this whole time. Of the side characters, he is my favorite.🥲

Thank you for the comment! Euini deserves SO MUCH MORE! I completely agree that there should be exceptions to the rules when forbidden magic hurts people. Yes, those scales need to be balanced! And yes, I would love for Richeh to make him a home!! Ahhh, that would be amazing! Especially because Richeh cares for him so much!! I’m all for that - let’s petition for it to happen! Yeahhhhhh, if they did NOT know about the gold statues, then it’s okay but if they DID and used it as a testing ground? Uhmmmm noooo – I’d like to think they had no idea, though, considering that Qifrey seemed surprised at the end. Thank you so much for the comment - I am SO ready for WHA: Kitchen to start!

WHAT a finale! I want to protect Euini so much – he did NOT deserve his courage rewarded like that. He has had it so hard - and YES! I didn’t talk about it in the discussion – but that line, “I can feel myself vanishing,” after he said that “disappearing” was a good thing! It’s HEARTBREAKING. Yeah, the caped brimmed hat is diabolical and awful. And yeah, I am curious how the Brimmed Caps gather intel; of course, we saw how easily the Masked Witch was able to stalk the girls, so I’m sure they have methods. But that’s a really good point to bring up! I am curious as well! And yeah, what DID happen to Alaira? I am curious on what we’re going to get with all this in Season 2. I was satisfied with Richeh as well - she is FIERCE! And yeah, Euini has a rough world ahead of him regardless! And yeah, if it involves forbidden magic to save him…what do we do with that? It really does make the reality that this is a very real, very permanent, problem that has more gravity. And yeah, I can see the Kitsune reference with his transformation! Great note! Bless him! Yeah, and then we have Romonon! I think that they’re just mad at witches in general – and that makes one think – since this was in the “before pointed hat society” – were the Romonon witches? Or was the city more intermingled? Maybe they view the Pointed Hat Society just as “Witches” in general. It will be INTERESTING to see how the worldbuilding expands in Season 2! And YES, I would love to see what else we find out - hopefully things - from the Romonon soldiers in season 2 – I am so hyped! Thank you for the comment and thank you for that note on the trailer!
