Friday Poll – Companion Rotation (0.5.0) (Patreon)

For the second Friday Poll of this week, I’d like to talk about the future of the party and companions.

Update 0.5.0 will introduce two new companions. I know many players would like to freely choose companions, swap them in and out, or have them leave and return dynamically. However, implementing that properly is very complex due to dialogue, interactions, scenes, and quest logic. It would often require writing the same quest multiple times with different variations depending on which characters are present, which greatly increases development time and the risk of bugs.

Because of this, I’ve decided to give strong continuity to the current group, and later on rotate or replace a couple of companions at key narrative moments instead of offering full party freedom. I’ve already decided that Majora will stay with the group for a longer time, but I’d like you to help decide who else should remain.

This choice will not happen at the very beginning of the game. Also, it’s unlikely that the two new companions introduced in 0.5.0 will receive full transformation arcs in that same update, since they will appear later, and I don’t want their development to feel rushed.Poll Question:Which companion would you like to stay in the group for a longer time alongside Majora?Your vote will directly influence future companion development and story direction.
