Hi all! I’ve been busy in the studio and wanted to give you a little look at what’s coming over the next couple of weeks:

1. Oak Leaf Tutorial 🍂

I wasn’t planning to turn this into a full class, since we already sketched it in Drawing for Watercolor Artists – Episode 3, but I’ve had so many requests for it that I gave the oak leaf its own spotlight. I repainted it on proper cotton paper and filmed a full step-by-step, 3-layer glazing tutorial just for you. Here is a link to this tutorial: https://www.patreon.com/posts/oak-leaf-144335611

2. Whimsical Christmas Tree 🎄

Next up is a festive Christmas tree class I’ve been planning for a while — perfect for a holiday card or a small gift painting. We’ll keep it light, decorative, and a bit whimsical, while still practicing good control of layers and details. Here is a link to this tutorial: https://www.patreon.com/posts/christmas-tree-144749740

And then… the big Holiday Wreath 👀✨

After these two, we’ll dive into a brand new Holiday Wreath project. This time, we’ll design and draw the wreath together, then paint it step by step. I just finished recording the drawing portion and will share the final piece as soon as it’s dry.

Thank you so much for all your requests and ideas — they truly shape what I create here for you. 💛

Hi, Anna, I was inspired by your ornaments tutorial from last year and I painted holiday cards to send out this year. It was a fun and relaxing project. You said in one of your tutorials that repeating a design makes one’s art better and it is true! I look forward to each new tutorial. Happy Holidays.

Monica

Absolutely loving that tree. As for the leaf your painting makes that leaf look textured, can almost smell the scent of fall through that simple illustration. Always look forward to what else I can learn, and you never disappoint. Thank you for all the work you do. I'm so glad I signed up to be a member!

Well most leaves aren't a big thing but this one just looks great! The detail and texture make it a must learn. 😊 So thanks for sharing, I also look forward to the tree, it looks like a fun tutorial. Love those gifts under the tree, especially that round one. ❣️

HI Anna! How exciting! I love the winter tree...so beautiful, and that leaf!!! If we are following along and doing your tutorials, is it okay to post our studies of your tutorials here too? Or somewhere else, for a bit of feedback and sharing?

Lisa OBrien

how exciting, all are beautiful.

I am so enjoying learning all the great techniques you are showing us in your tutorials. I have learned so much but have got a long way to go. Always looking forward to the new projects and trying your collection as well.

Thank you, Melissa! Yes of course - although Patreon does not offer image-sharing capabilities,tThe good news is that we have a private Facebook group set up just for this purpose! You can join us here: www.facebook.com/groups/1267159783736466/ It’s a wonderful space for all of us to share our watercolor journey—whether it’s work-in-progress, painting ideas, tutorial-specific questions, or general watercolor tips and challenges. While I’m unable to review every post or provide individual feedback, I do pop in from time to time to see everyone’s progress 💙🎨

Wonderful! Thank you, Anna, for taking the time to respond and for your encouragement! I am super excited to see the next tutorials...🤩

I'm enjoying Thanksgiving with my family and am also looking forward to diving into Christmas painting. Is it possible to post the colors you chose for the Christmas tree and wreath? It would allow me order what I don't have in advance so I'm ready to paint once you post the tutorials and art supplies are on sale this weekend in the US. Thanks:)
