Sneak Peek: Deer & Persimmons (Patreon)

I wanted to share the process work for the upcoming Fall-Themed tutorial. You may have seen this small study on my Instagram / Facebook as I was considering the background color options (granulating greens vs warm ochres vs blues). A lot of great ideas were shared, and I tested most of the color combos (you can see it in the background in one of the photos).   In the end, I decided it would be best to paint an intricate Persimmon tree in the background - with branches echoing the shapes and direction of  the deer horns. I will explain my rationale for the background subject and color choices in more detail in the video tutorial 😊 for now I wanted to give you a glimpse into the composition outline.
