In follow up to your recent book feedback regarding the most challenging parts of your watercolor painting experience, I put together a Youtube video addressing the topic that came up very frequently. This demo focuses on my favourite tips for choosing the initial set of colors {often called an under-painting}. I'm sharing it here for an AD-FREE experience:)

As part of the video, I asked if people would be interested in seeing real-time recordings of my watercolor explorations, including this one. Based on the comments so far, it would be a nice addition to the extremely time consuming {in terms of editing} tutorial-style videos I already offer on Patreon. Please note, that experimental paintings like this don't make for an optimal learning experience in my opinion, and should be treated as a creative "experiment".  These are my own learning compositions where I test and figure out the colors, and the sequences of washes that are most suitable. They contain too many ad-hock pigment choices and techniques, while often lacking detailed photo references.  Therefore, I am happy to share the recordings without voice-over and outlines, eventually opening them as a lower Tier on Patreon for those who are curious to observe the process. This will be a bonus / in addition to the regular tutorials I already offer. All demos of this kind will be accessible to all paying members so there is no change to your viewing experience - simply more content to enjoy!

I think this is a great idea to do these kinds of demos. Especially for those that are trying to do some paintings on their own. This would be the next logical step. I would, however, LOVE an outline for these!!! Thanks Anna ❤️

Renate Steiner

Thank you so much, Anna! Can we have an outline for this?

Anna Bucciarelli

Thank you for your feedback Lynn! I think that's a good approach - I can definitely do an outline. Give me a day please:)

Anna Bucciarelli

Yes, I think that will work - I'll add an outline tomorrow. Thank you for your feedback!

Bonnie Williams

I love watching your process and it is a different type of learning than the voice overs but oh so valuable. Thank you for doing this -- ❤️

Monica Crumley

New subscriber. This is gorgeous, love the colors, love birds and botanicals. I really appreciate the careful explanation of taking time for glazing versus adding more saturated colors at the start. Where would we find the outline for this?

Patricia

Love this! Will you be doing a full tutorial? I hope so❤️

Tammy's watercolor tutorials

Please, I'm begging you, LOL! This painting is the one that made me fall in love with your style. So please create a tutorial. Happy Holidays.

Anna Bucciarelli

Thank you Tammy! I will definitely be going back to complex Bird / Plant tutorial compositions starting in the new year as they are my favorites to paint (and narrate)! This one I only recorded in small parts as I was busy experimenting with colors, but there will be more soon! In the meantime, you can check out numerous tutorials in my Birds & Blooms collection here on Patreon:) Happy Holidays!

Victoria Zimmerman

Hi Anna, can you please share this painting as a full tutorial?

Victoria Zimmerman

Thank you, Anna! This is a gorgeous painting and the pomegranates!

Anna Loughary

Thank you for the outline. Hoping with the demand for a tutorial it will be coming. The demo is nice but in the beginning stages the tutorials work so much better for me and this is my favorite painting of yours.

Anna Bucciarelli

Thank you Anna, I have pomegranates on my "to-paint" list :) Although I may not be repainting this exact composition, something similar will definitely make its way to our growing collection of Bird compositions. I hope you enjoy other Birds & Blooms in the meantime. Have a wonderful day! PS: just a gentle reminder that the best way to reach me with questions is through the Direct Message feature here on Patreon. I set aside time every Friday to go through direct messages and reply, but due to the volume of comments, I’m not always able to catch everything that’s posted publicly.
