Mike and Jay shot an epic 2.5 hour discussion of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. We did our best to try and make sense of everything. It'll be Halloween in March!

Is this Rich making an update? Why address Mike and Jay in the third person 🤔 Hi Rich 👋🏼

Andre K

That's at least 3 re:views right there, add to it the next Picard chat and we're going to have a great March!

Jesse Shade

I can't wait to see you guys rave about New Nightmare.

Marvin Falz

This is a most awesome coincidence, because I watched Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) for the first time ever just last week. And I loved it. Even the ending. So looking forward to your discussion!

Richbutnotwealthy

I think Rich and Josh are too sarcastic to treat anything Jay and Mike will do as "epic," so if I had to guess, I believe Jack wrote this. Or maybe their intern, Macaulay Culkin.

Nada Leona Sheppard

By the way, have you lads ever considered doing a BOTW on 1989's The Phantom of the Opera? It's a delight in the worst way. An early Molly Shannon, Robert Englund, lots of gory fun. It's terrible but might be worth your time.

Michael Parker

Nice. It feels like it’s been larger gaps between episodes of this where you guys discuss old classics or favorites. I’d kinda like to see a Re:View of Possession(1981) since it recently made it’s streaming debut on Shudder. Jay has brought up before how much he loves that film and it’d cool to see him have the opportunity to expound upon it. I imagine that’d be one he’d have to do with Josh.

Nathan Smith

This is such a pleasant, unexpected surprise. Can’t wait!

LydiaHyde

What a treat, thank you!

Phat94

Welcome to prime time!!!!!

Alek

Omgggggggggggg CAN’T WAIT. Freddy is burned into my psyche from my childhood.

James Van Sickle

Looking forward to it! First three films are probably the best, then they jumped the shark so hard the franchise went into orbit.

Jake Martin

...why is it so hard for people to understand writing a post in first person plural so all individuals are referred to in third person, even the one anonymously writing the post?

David S

Mike needed an excuse to drink the rest of his pumpkin beer that’s why it’s Halloween in March. Jokes aside, looking forward to this! I mistakenly got the impression the Nightmare franchise would be covered in 2021, so I re-watched every movie in preparation. Glad my time commitment finally paid off.

I don't care what anybody else says, that album is 80s shopping mall GOLD. Deserves a rerelease.

Manuel Johnen

Oh boy, I hope they mention... every... single... episode... of... "Freddy's Nightmares"... ...... <3

Now that the very last 'Halloween' has been released and there will never be another one ever, or in ~5 years (whichever comes first), it would a good time to re:View all the 'Halloween' sequels since the original but before the David Gordon Green trilogy. From the good (the original H2 & H3) up to the bad (Rob Zombie's nightmarish remake movies). That'll then complete the Jason Voorhees, Freddie Kruger, Michael Myers franchise re:View trifecta.

The Real Zam

Maybe Jay can give Freddy a manicure.

Jordan

I can't tell you how long I've wished for this.

Really enjoy the franchise Re:views

JonBlow

please let it be 2.5 hours of talking.

Oh man, I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say about the franchise. My wife and I just re-watched the whole series and the experience broke my heart. I had a hunch how it would go but I didn't want to admit it to myself definitively before going through all the movies again and giving each movie a fair reassessment. Oh boy. Freddy is a great character in almost exclusively mediocre to pretty bad movies. I don't think any other horror icon had anywhere near Freddy's potential. A good scene here and a fun one-liner there just isn't enough. If anything it just gives you a tiniest of taste of what could have been. #1's fantastic, #3's pretty good and the Vs. movie is fun. Out of nine movies? What a waste. The concept and look are so damn strong. I understand being creative with Jason or Myers is tricky but struggling to come up with entertaining and/or truly terrifying material for Freddy shouldn't be too hard, right?
