Hey everyone! We're currently editing part 1 of a franchise retrospective on the Nightmare on Elm Street movies! The discussion took us in a lot of directions but part 1 mainly focuses on trying to make sense of Freddy's mythology throughout the series, then focusing on discussing the first four-ish movies. We're not completely sure but another video about Season 3 of Picard will probably come out after that, then part 2 of the Freddy franchise after that!

Oh awesome! I only recently saw the Elm St movies after seeing them continue to pop up in your discussions (I had a pretty sheltered childhood when it came to movies, haha!). I really enjoyed them when I finally got to see them, so this sounds like it’ll be great fun too. Thanks for all your great work!

One of the first movies I ever bought with my own money was a used VHS copy of the 1st Nightmare on Elm Street when I was 10 years old. After watching the Johnny Depp bed scene I was so traumatized I didn’t sleep in my bed for a year and could only sleep in the living with the lights on. So looking forward to this discussion video 👍🏼

JMB

YES please never stop making videos yall are the best.

Three parter about Elm Street no way!

Marina

Dream Warriors is my vote for funniest Nightmare on Elm Street. It’s so corny lmao

Ben-K

I think the most unsettling one for me was Freddy puppeteer one the kid by his tendons, then cackling as he threw him out the window. Scared the hell out of me, and I was 40 when I first saw it!

Jason Kirk Harder

Sounds great! I love the deep-dives into series like this.

Dominic O'Neill

Fantastic! I rewatched them all recently and was surprised how much I enjoyed 6 as a nice shift from the weird gothic turns in 4 and 5.

Gar Kelleher

The roach motel killing still lives in my mind. Love the Freddie series! 💚🤍🧡

Have you guys ever thought of doing more commentary tracks just for Patreon?

The Real Zam

Shouldn't Picard be on BotW?

JTruts

This is a treat, always love to see what's next for reView.

Blake McMillan

Can’t wait for the Nightmare 6 discussion, where freddy finally goes full bugs bunny

Peter Varga

I haven't seen them all, but I'd rather watch the discussion!

Damon Killian

I bought a used car from a guy named Freddy Krueger, total nightmare.

I loved the first two NIGHTMAREs and thought they were genuinely eerie and frightening. Starting with DREAM WARRIORS, though, it felt more like Freddie was possessed by an especially nasty practical joker and insult comic, a kind of cross between Til Eulenspiegel and Don Rickles. The dream logic also felt more like a series of setpieces rather than reality blending into dangerous fantasy at any second....

Sean Kirby

Probably my favorite thing I own is the entire Nightmare series including the Never Sleep Again documentary on German mediabook Blu-ray with a case to hold them in. I had to work with this guy on eBay for like a month for him to find the whole set and the case for me and talk him into a “decent” price but it was worth it

Juan Calvo

I love all the silly jokes in the RLM audio commentary of the first Nightmare on Elm Street, but I can't help thinking about them when I actually watch the movie (which is not ideal when watching a horror movie).

LydiaHyde

Don't forget Freddy's appearance on 'Kato-Chan Ken-Chan Gokigen', it's canon.

Travis McCormick

That's awesome! Tales From the Crypt would be great too even just some episodes or Demon Knight.

Omar Odeh

Guess I finally need to watch Nightmare on Elm Street 4!

Jerome

I would like to renew my request for a BoTW spotlight episode on Zardoz.

Miles Long

I think nightmare on elm street movies are a great horror franchise to get kids into horror. Or at least when I was 8 I found it appealing. It taught me the danger of drugs, anorexia, sleeping in class, and the dangers of going into abandoned homes.

A Rich and Jack re:View of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers would not go unwatched

Andre K

Rich and Jack eating chips and watching TV would also not go unwatched.

Watching Picard doesn't make me sad anymore. Well, except for how old they are, but that's how time works
