After Germany surrendered, Easy Company's relief was short-lived; soldiers without enough service points were told they'd be sent to Japan.

Thank you for watching this series! I look forward to the reaction to the documentary at some point which, to me, really caps off the full experience. After dozens of viewing, the tears still flow for me too and it’s such a privilege to take some time and honor the men depicted in the show. Thank you to all those who serve in any capacity (military, firefighters, police, doctors, nurses, etc). ❤️

I couldn't agree more, Ian! There's no way to tag a comment with "100" in these Patreon posts, so I'll have to do it manually: 💯

now do the pacific, and masters of the air................I have watched this many times, and as a middle-aged man, shed a tear many times with each watch.............1 of the most striking moments for me an early episode interview where malarky says he handled events fine in the moment but struggled later in life, donald malarky is officialy the man in the 506th who served more time on the line as the tip of the spear than any other member, yet never wounded, and lived longer post war than any other member............so when he speaks of trouble, i feel it in my soul............the men of the greatest generation

The real ending is the documentary We Stand Alone Together. I hope you will watch it one day. As a Veteran thank you for showing such great respect.

We haven't seen that yet, but we do have it on our list. We are grateful for all of our Veterans, thank you for your service.

A story that gives you some idea of the dread vets from the war in Europe had at the prospect of being sent to the Pacific, where it was thought Japanese resistance might go on a couple more years: The father of a friend of mine had fought with Patton's 3rd army. (He despised Gen. P, btw) He told me that when he was on a ship coming back to the US, some guy was talking about a rumor he heard of a secret super-weapon that could end the war very soon. This angered some other soldiers. They thought it was a crazy idea, too good to be true. It was cruel to give the men false hope. Fights broke out on the ship. I've heard similar things from other sources, incl. a history teacher I had in high school. There was zero chance that nuclear bombs would not be used against Japan when they became available. The massive napalm bombing of Tokyo was no less terrible (and of German cities before that). It was only years later, when nuclear war between the US & USSR was a real possibility, and the bombs were much more powerful, that the general public began to fix their attention on the particular horrors of such weapons.

It is truly powerful to hear those firsthand accounts. Thank you for sharing that story.

Again I know this was done in 2025. Great reaction ladies.

You may know this, but the solder who past away when the oil drum fell out of the truck, that actor is a very young Tom Hardy. Early 20s.

Some do not know this. But there was a difference between the regular German army and the Nazi army. The regular army hated them. And alot of them didn't know what was going on with the Holocaust. Well done ladies.
