I said it before about Emilia fighting, but her creating the skates and skating along the river and also aiming all of her hit in her vital spots (even his crotch lol) was a good strategy. I remember when this episode aired and everyone saw the kiss scene and just went crazy lol. Definitely unexpected but I ain't complaining. I think the author said that the comment Sirius made about "Iris and the Thorn King" would be explained at some point, but nobody knows what that meant yet. I really wonder what that could've been, since that sounds like a title of a story or a fairy tale or something. Perhaps a story born from history, just like the stories about Satella? "Emilia-tan lend me your ear." "Well, as long as you'll give it back." Still one of the funniest moments to me, Emilia is so innocent it's hilarious. We also found out here that all the Archbishops were named after constellations or clusters of stars. Now hear me out. On top of EVERYTHING else we've already seen that seemingly connects Subaru to being the Archbishop of Pride, there is now one more connection. If you remember back to the OVA where everyone got drunk and had a great time after the snow festival, on the balcony Subaru mentions that he was named also after a constellation in the sky. Coincidence? I think not!

Interestingly enough, Aldebaran is also a name of a star, so Al is also somewhat connected to the witch’s cult. Additionally, Alphard and Batenkaitos are both stars that are a part of constellations Whale and Hydra, symbolizing the White Whale and the Black Serpent, which implies a possibility of there being a third one, connected to the Great Rabbit.

Wow, that's a lot of useful information, I love it!

Man, Capella's theme is so sinister and fits so well with every scene she's in. Probably my favorite OST from this season, excluding Howl of Counterattack (the one that played at the end of the episode, when Subaru was taunting Regulus). And Al pulling up like a Dark Souls boss to fight Capella one on one? It begs the question how strong he truly is. Not to mention the "before I die" line... Now, we finally know what Regulus' authority is. Stopping time for his own body. That explains his invincibility. Basically, his body isn't affected by the laws of physics and nature. He doesn't age (from Emilia's trial we know he's well over 100 years old), he can walk on water, he doesn't get injured and has infinite strength (being able to pick up a good few thousands of liters of water just like that). But how do we explain his devastating attacks? Well... Because he can stop time for himself, any object he touches also isn't affected by the outside world. So whatever he touches becomes immune to gravity and air resistance, meaning it will infinitely gain speed and power until it hits its target. He essentially turns anything he touches into a deadly projectile (Like when he obliterated Pandora with a handful of sand or when he ripped off Crusch's arm by waving his hand and pushing a gust of air in her direction). His power is absolutely busted. But knowing how it works doesn't really help us, so that leaves the question what else does Subaru know? And what plan did he come up with? Btw, it's becoming pretty clear that Subaru wasn't summoned to this world on random. It would be too much of a coincidence that the guy who was transported here just so happened to be a huge astronomy nerd and knows a ton about stars and constellations (Also considering that the Archbishops' names come from the star names from Earth).

We still haven't seen the Arch-bishop of Envy as well, and someone mentioned that ALL the arch-bishops are in the city. We also know the witches don't control their Arch-bishops, so it's reasonable to assume Envy does have one somewhere.

Another great episode. I love when shows are able to get plot points out quickly and still hold both a story and action going at the same time. I have one small nit pick about this episode: the ice skates were modern skates instead of an older style. If Subaru taught her how to make skates at some point in the past, it wasn't shown here. And his comment about how well he skates sort of suggests he hadn't. Super nit picky thing though. We do also get to see Subaru's secret hidden super power once again. Being an absolute tank when it comes to being distracting.

The archbishop of envy doesn't exist. Satella is still sealed, not dead, so she still has the witch factor of envy. If we wanna be technical, Subaru would be the archbishop of envy, since he uses the power granted from her authority, but he doesn't have a gospel, so...

DecoMorreno

Yeah, it wasn't mentioned in the anime, but in the light novel, it was stated that Subaru helped Emilia train to improve her combat abilities. Not only the ice skates, but he also proposed the idea for Emilia to create weapons out of ice instead of just shooting icicles. It's pretty clear when you hear Emilia call it Ice Brand Arts. The name sounds chuuni and it's in English, so it was obviously named by Subaru.

Also possible, but then Al could be Pride. None of the other arch bishops know who/if pride is out there.

That's crazy! 😲 Thank you so much for all the information! I feel a little lost sometimes, but reading your comments really helps clarify things and makes it easier for me to understand 🥰

You missed mention the peak makeout scene though.
