There is a lot to Heinkel's character that we don't know. It's clear that what happened to Theresia contributed to the way he is now. Apart from that, in the flashbacks we could see Heinkel's wife looking sick, so maybe that also has something to do with it. Plus the inferiority complex that Heinkel must feel being the weakest in the family. While Wilhelm understood that it wasn't Reinhard's fault, Heinkel never moved on from blaming him, so seeing Reinhard actually defeat her corpse only sealedthat blame. In the novel, i believe it was mentioned that Heinkel was very strongly attached to Theresia, since Wilhelm was a pretty cold and distant father figure. It's a whole mess and they both made a lot of mistakes, so the blame lies somewhere in between. But the real victim of it all is still Reinhard. It may have seemed like Wilhelm agreed with Reinhard at the end, but actually, he distanced himself even more. That's why he called him "Master Swordsman Reinhard-dono" instead of just "Reinhard". He actually was planning on killing Theresia, he just wanted the closure of doing it himself. He probably would have if Heinkel didn't distract him. He knew that it had to be done, but he couldn't accept that Reinhard didn't show any emotions or regret. But that's unfortunately how Reinhard is. His role as the Sword Saint, the people's expectations and the fact that everyone in the kingdom treats him either like a tool or an incomprehensible monster because of his power (There are literally laws in Lugunica regarding using Reinhard against foreign threats and an agreement with other nations that he cannnot cross the borders, because he's too dangerous.) made him close off his heart and just be the Sword Saint without letting Reinhard's emotions get in the way. So now, the rift in the family is even bigger than it was and there's not much we can do about it, but at least Theresia and Wilhelm got to have their last talk. Oh, and you asked why Theresia didn't want Wilhelm to go with her. That's because he already got orders to search for the kidnapped princess. It was mentioned in episode 1 when Subaru and Julius talked, and it was also brought up in this episode, but you might have missed it.

Oh, also, during one of the Q&A's, the author of the novels, Nagatsuki Tappei, said that if the story wasn't about Subaru, then Heinkel would have been the main character. Pretty interesting.

I really feel bad for Reinhard and Wilhelm. Wilhelm clearly wanted to make up with Reinhard and atone for what he did in the past but Reinhard was actually forced to kill Theresia here, which actually didn't happen in the past. As we learned, it wasn't really Reinhard who killed Theresia in the past but just a horrible way that Wilhelm said it to him. Truth is that, when Reinhard received the blessing it just unfortunately happened during the time that Theresia was on the mission to kill the White Whale and so the blessing left her for Reinhard. Very tragic. The blessing isn't something one gives to another willingly. It's just passed from one person to another whenever whatever requirements are met, or so it seems. There doesn't really seem to be a reason why someone is picked, because if it chose the strong people of the family, it would've chosen one of Theresia's brothers instead of her. Definitely a cruel fate that just was thrust on her shoulders. And then we also find out how she actually died and why she wasn't forgotten as a lot of the other people were and how she came to be an undead puppet for the Witch Cult, just like Petelguse. I really wish to know more about Pandora and what is going on with her, there's too many things we don't know about her. I'm glad Wilhelm finally got some closure for real this time, but I can't just help but be worried for his relationship with Reinhard. I think they are even worse off now than they were before this. Not going to even talk about Heinkel, because he's just a drunk asshole from what I can see, there's nothing really redeeming about him or why I should or would feel bad for him.
