When the episode is named after a character, you know you're gonna cry...

I wanted to bring up a thing I thought up after rewatching some of the previous episodes. We did see the fact that Petelguse and Regulus are both inside Subaru, to some extent, regardless if he can use their powers or not (I imagine he wouldn't be able to use Unseen Hand if Echidna didn't help him). Satella was there too, as expected. So basically he has 3 powers or what I would rather call "affinities" in him, Sloth, Greed and Envy. If you remember back when they had to go either left or right and in the right path they encountered what Subaru called doors. He was able to open 3 of them but no more. What if, whatever is back there (possibly Satella due to the amount of miasma around), was locked behind all 7 affinities and Subaru had to go around and kill all the Archbishops to get them and then he can finally enter that place? On to the episode though, there isn't too much to say about the fights with Reid. It was to be expected that Julius would lose, although I didn't imagine it would be this one sided. This is the same Julius who was able to parry Shaula's Hell Snipe attack, which is (from what I could tell) near or literal light speed attack. I do wonder why Echidna was trying so hard to help Julius, she obviously knew how bad using magic would be for the body, yet she still did it. I'm glad to see Emilia actually win though, even if the end of it was by luck. I do wonder who this Tricia was that Reid mentioned before the fight. I also love Emilia's fighting style, it's a lot better than just throwing ice around. It's worth bringing up something I'm sure I said at the start of season 3, but it was Subaru who helped Emilia come up with all of that in the 1 year timeskip between season 2 and 3. It's also worth mentioning that chopsticks don't seem to be a thing in this world and someone, most likely Flügel, must have introduced him to them. As they later mention, he does wear Kararagi style clothes, which are obviously inspired by Japan, as we saw in Priestella, which had Japanese style buildings introduced to this world by Hoshin of the Wilderness, another person transported from Japan. We also got some info on some more very strong characters from other countries (people who have read any IF stories know Halibel for sure, great character). Can't wait to see maybe some of these characters in the future, especially if they are on Reinhard level, I'd love to see a fight between any two of them. We also found out that Reid was the first sword saint, which puts him probably on the same level as Reinhard as well. It's going to be hard to get past him. I can't fault Julius for trying again, it must be pretty devastating for a skilled knight like he is to suffer such a one-sided beating. We do see some glimpses of his past during this, but I'm guessing we'll get a dedicated backstory episode soon. From what I gathered this episode was that Julius admired Subaru's free attitude, not being bound by any knightly honor or anything like that, and he wished he could be like that himself. That's probably why he decided to take the guise of Juli back in season 1. If you remember back in season 3 he talked about how it would be nice to be Juli and how the world seemed colorful when he was Juli. Being a knight seems just too suffocating for him and he can't be who he is or even probably fight to the best of his ability. That's probably why Reid basically said that Julius can't beat him when he introduced himself as a knight, because he probably fights like a knight, not relying on underhanded tactics or something like that. And as we saw from Emilia's fight, he needs to catch Reid off-guard or do something underhanded to stand a chance of beating him. I'm glad you also caught on to this! I truly loved the parallels of Subaru fighting Julius and Julius fighting Reid, even despite the fact that both of them know that beating their enemy was impossible. They didn't try because they knew they might win but because they couldn't back down. Looking forward to seeing how others pass the test though, I figured Julius or Emilia would probably have the best chance of winning this whole test for everyone, but since it was individual, I don't see some people passing the test at all. That scene of Reid two-handing those chopsticks was insane though.

wow I didn't think there was a meaning to those doors Subaru was able to open. 😮it's amazing how you analyse every single detail 😆 thanks for sharing that! it's a possibility for sure! 😱
