Blue moon is a sort of manchester citys unoffical club anthem. not sure ifthere was any more symbolism meant than that Coach Beard was stuck brooding over the result

Few people are ambivalent about this episode, they either love it or hate it…I love it!!! I view it as actually happening, outside the psychological side bars with Teri Henri. I love that it includes a phenomenal night for the boys from the pub. When I think about all of Beard’s one-line references to previous experiences that left me going “Huh???”, this episode informed me that his private life can go sideways in a heart beat. I love Beard but I think I’ll say no to tagging along on one of his solo nights out!!! P.S. Red didn’t have a drink at Bones & Honey…but inviting a stranger with torn pants home? Um….no 😐

As I've stated before I am somewhere between Roy and Beard (personality wise). More Roy now but way more Beard when I was younger - So to answer "Is it a dream or reality?" my answer is "Yes". I have had nights where the two meld into one. The dream being, uh...induced. Similar soundtrack to - Ha! Love the church rave - would have been there myself. I love episodes that throw us off the track a bit...😊🙌 I think you've grossly underestimated Beards weirdness. I always saw this episode pretty much like Brett Goldstein described it. This night (including drug induced enhancements and halluzinations) is not that out of the normal for Coach Beard. He actually fits better to Jane as you seem to think, his crazy matches her crazy...😊

I always thought the same the full blue moon was the match haunting him, same with Thierry Henry & Gary Lineker, I think he really saw them on TV, but the personal stuff from them was in his head. The actual physical stuff around town and the people he meets I believe are real.
