A new team, a new assistant coach, and a new... well you'll have to wait and see!

I feel the vibe is very much back after this episode!

Enjoy!

that goalie gave me pickford energy.

😂 THAT'S WHO IT IS!! I've been trying to figure out who they reminded me of!!

CHRISXGAMESALOT

Yeah i love Alice too I think she's like a combination of Nate and Roy in a way but she doesn't hide her feelings even though she tries can't wait to see her growth.

ClaudieTV

Mhmm like the character more than I thought I would!

First, notice the song playing during Ted and Beard's conversation. Also, the twins... when the one ducked before the other could hit her even though she was behind her, is setting up them being in sync on the pitch. Knowing where each will be before they get there. So glad this show is back!

Maye is right, Guinness is a complete meal /// "Yes!" to the vid idea /// I can't believe you paused the song to talk instead of chair dancing per usual /// I don't find her "scary" but kinda "emo" but without the make-up (LoLz) /// Oh - there it is (chair dance) /// Oh no poor Beard /// that ol' chestnut - when the team starts making money, ownership can start spending money /// So far so good. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks, Claudie.

Yes the song choices are fab in this episode, might explore that in an analysis and easter egg video provided I get time :)

As with the last episode, I watched this one first to enjoy, then a second time to analyze. (I probably should get checked for Autism). Here’s the notes I took: Ted Lasso 4x2 notes. The men’s team are now sponsored by Pinter & Sons. The flat above the pub seems to be lacking some visible appliances. I don’t see an oven or a fridge in the little kitchenette. Hopefully they are out if site of the island, otherwise, biscuits with the boss could be challenging. The footpath where his old flat being closed… didn’t Beard live down there too? Did he have to move? What about the businesses? Is it closed off to hide the Ted Lasso shop that’s really there? Rebecca has once again swapped out the Hockney. Roy’s “Alternative Milk Budget”? I request elaboration. Return of the Higgins Noise! Brisket with the Boss. I like that Ted started his coaching term for the Women's team in exactly the opposite way he started his Men's team term. With the Men's team, he came in without doing any research on the sport, the players, or the culture. This time, he read Alice's dossier cover to cover and committed it to memory. He knew all about the situation he was walking into. The Seaward joke is a genuine laugh out loud moment. Pretty sure the hallways have been repainted. Names I saw for the men’s team: Bumbercatch, Reynolds, Kukoc, Cockburn, Montlaur, McAdoo, Winchester, Bartels, Dixon, O’Brien, Nortman, Williamson, Rojas, Maas, Pilkowskas, Rosenfelt, Zoreaux, Goodman. There’s a few on the ends that are hard to make out. Notably absent: Hughes, Obisanya, Tartt. In addition to Phoebe’s boob drawing, there’s also a photo of Phoebe, and a hand made sign saying “Good Luck Uncle Roy”. I need details on the “Whole thing with Jane” beyond what we can infer about his marriage to a toxic psycho. Internal WiFi Guest Network: Name: AFC-Richmond. Password: TLshbTuORg She said Really Twice? The Academy posters feature Dani, Nate, Sam, Ted, Isaac, Jamie, Beard, and Roy. I think Sam and Nate have departed, though. Jamie definitely has. Ted’s poster has “I think it’s the lack of hope that comes and gets you… See, I believe in hope. I believe in belief.” From the season one finale, “It’s the Hope that Kills You.” Isaac’s quote is “I think everyone has something to learn. Even the best.” Guest WiFi: Name: AFCRICHMOND Password: raJ16ST04 Alice’s checklist for Monday has “Welton Prep” on it. Did she schedule out time to prepare to resign? Is this a different press room, or a redecoration of the old one? I could swear the original one had tiered seats? Am I imagining that? I also don’t recall a water bottle fridge at the back. I’ll have to check later. That guy clearly actually dressed like Paddington to get Roy to call on him. bantr, and Nandos still listed in the sponsors. Glad Jeremy, Baz, and Paul are back. It would have been odd without them. Ted surely has to be getting paid way less this time ‘round, don’t you think? Even a cursory search says Managers of Women’s teams get paid around £70,000 on average. While a Premier League manager seems to start around £4,000,000. I have to think Beard’s statement that folks are only in it for the love of the game seems to apply to Ted. I would imagine he still has a nice little nest egg from his previous 3 seasons as manager, and he’s not making nothing, but living in Richmond is surely costly. Google says average price for a flat in Richmond is £2310. Something tells me Mae isn’t the sort to give a discount, even when she likes you. Roy seems to be driving the same car. Keely should just attach the Apple Pencil to the iPad instead of putting it down. If the woman’s team is taking the visitors locker room, where will the visitors go? Keely saying “you could have sent the Kit man” makes me think Will is gone. Keely has two phones… why? Rebecca’s mother is decidedly nuts. Keely couldn’t take the Urinal out of the room, so she seems to have made a little art display out of it. There’s what appears to be a headless angel statue, grass, flowers, and fairy lights. Jamie’s poster says “Make that extra pass”. Oh, my heart. He grew so much. Ted praising Alice’s dossier, learning her story, asking her to stay, giving credit to her and Keely for their work, I think that made her want to stay. Tanya Reynolds as Alice is doing a lot of the heavy lifting in this episode. How much of her character is shown through her facial expressions is just great. Damn. I just got the title. I know “Curiouser and Curiouser” is an Alice in Wonderland quote, so I thought it was just a play on that because it introduces Alice, but it’s also the instilling of Ted’s favorite Walt Whitman quote. “Be Curious, not Judgemental.”

Yeah Chicago's "You're the Inspiration," playing in the background of Ted and Beard's scene made it so hysterical. Matched up with the dialogue perfectly.

I'm interested on what they're going to do with Rebecca this season. By the end of season 3, I feel she had finally let go of what happened with Rupert and had come out of her self-discovery more independent and self-assured. Now what? Is it going to be this feminism self discovery? I kind of feel that may get stale fairly quickly. Her and Keeley need to find a middle ground of supporting the Lady Greyhounds. Which they kind of did with the locker room situation. Otherwise a great episode. You're right. The vibe is definitely back! Glad we're getting to know the new team and not trying to focus on who's no longer there. Ted Lasso (the show) has always had a good balance between all the characters whether it's the coaches, management, staff, or players. It already feels like they're keeping that the same. I really like Alice's character. She seems to be on the spectrum a bit. Or maybe just a little socially awkward with a side of arrogance. It's hard to tell sometimes. I've seen some comparisons to her and Roy, but I don't think you can pigeonhole her into being just a female Roy. Her personality seems to be quite different. I think she'll soften a bit. Hopefully not too much though.

ClaudieTV

You're great at noticing the details! I got a fair few of these, and yes that Alice in Wonderland reference and details are fab!

ClaudieTV

It seems there's some insecurity coming out of rebecca isnt there, interesting how theyre going to do this

I find it funny that goalies are considered nuts in soccer because they’re mental in hockey as well. Coach Chilton is such an interesting character. So interesting to see what’s behind the cold bitch facade seemingly only Ted and Roy can see through. That being said, she’d make a fine sergeant major. Really looking forward to the rest of the season now.

Oh, Alice finally smiled! 😀
