Yearbooks aren’t really a thing here, they might be a bit more of a thing now, I remember my school trying to do one when i was in sixth form (ie Inbetweeners age) but don’t think it actually happened. There’s a tradition here of signing people’s shirts, because the vast majority of us wear uniforms

Len isn’t American, he’s their uncle in real life… But it probably resembles one of the core accents that formed the American accent, remember where the American accents largely came from, plus a dose of German and Irish influences. It’s also one of the few remaining rhotic accents left in England, and most American accents are rhotic - ie you pronounce the letter R in the middle of words. The famously non-rhotic accents in the US are in New England, whereas in most of England the accents are non-rhotic. So that’s probably why it sounded a bit American to you Greg

Yeah came here to say the same. My school tried to do a yearbook but it didn’t take off. We signed each others shirts when we left primary at 11, and then secondary at 16 with the added caveat of getting drunk at a house party and everyone burning their ties lol. After sixth form we had a proper ball, some schools called it a prom but ours didn’t want the Americanism. Two of my best friends got so drunk getting ready for the ball that they had to leave after half an hour.. I took my sister as a date and my a level biology teacher was drunk and gave us ciagrettes. My sister was 16 and drinking beer. So british

Ah the old Amway cult - I was tricked by a neighbour into attending one of their recruitment presentations many years ago. It seemed to me immediately like it was the cross between a cult and a religion. I walked out after 20 mins and they tried to physically stop me. I just walked straight through them and out.

I’m from where Warhammer originates, and Nottinghamshire in general is known as the wargaming capital of the world (there’s a part of the Nottingham city itself known as the lead belt because there’s so many companies there). I’ve been playing for 30 years as well so this always gives me a chuckle

I saw a video on TikTok the other day that now they get served a 3 course meal at proms in the UK . The world has gone mad - we just went to the park with some white lightening 🤣

Len has the same accent as Kurtan and Kerry but stronger. It's a West Country accent and we still roll our 'r's' here! My school did the yearbook thing but we didn't do all that signing stuff. We didn't do that most likely to thing either. We also had a big photo with all our year group but I have no idea where mine is!

Yep, there’s Warhammer World too in Nottingham which is where their HQ is and a bit gaming centre and museum / exhibition for want of a better description. Their earlier office was in my town itself (Newark -the original one 😂) pretty much next door to a friend’s house - although that was at least 10 years after they were there.

The shirts could be a bit like that but it tended to be more when you left school, I don’t remember doing it every year - but I could be wrong.
