Bastards cannot inherit lands or titles in Westoros. That's why John wanted to join the Nights Watch since being a bastard won't prevent him from rising in their ranks while staying in Winterfell he will always be reminded that he is basically nothing. A king can sign a decree that legitimizes a bastard and gives him back the family name but of course Robert has not done this for his own bastards. Littlefinger is something else but a great character. I made the same mistake of finally trusting him when he promised Ned the Gold Cloaks and then screamed at him at the end lol. Great reaction your very fun to watch.

Yep. That's why Robert's bastards are kept a secret/hidden, as they are a potential threat to the Lannisters if Gendry for instance were to be legitimized, becoming the rightful heir.

For context no spoilers, in Westeros most are descendant of two distinct peoples; the first men (Northerners like the Starks who worship the old gods) and the Andals (Southerners who worship the seven).

Thank you for this!! I keep noticing that some people have different gods and its confusing me haha

My_Cousin_Mose

I really appreciate your outros and how you give such a good analysis of what you watched every episode. You're clearly paying very close attention and are clearly enjoying the show. Its a treat to watch this again with you. Also- this episode has the longest and most gratuitous sex scene in the whole show. There are more sex scenes but none as long or pointless as this one.

Tywin was skinning a stag 😉 . Nothing is done by accident in GOT. Thats why its king of reactions and theories

Licha Reacts!

The gold cloaks are like the city police, the Kingsguard is more exclusive, there are only 7 in honor of the religion of the 7 gods, they are supposed to be the best warriors in all of Westeros, they make an oath similar to that of the Night's Watch, they cannot have a wife, lands, children, etc. Their duty is to protect the life of the king and his family and give their lives for them if necessary. If they fail in their duty or betray the king they are sentenced to death just like in the Night's Watch, that's why Jaime killing the mad king is so important to his character, he killed the one he swore to protect with his own life, so people see him as someone without honor.

Dan Tydeman

Man Charles Dance is by far one of the best actors in this series, love that you get to see him now. Its perfection

Spritzgulasch

Tywin gutting a real stag there. What an actor :O

Cat Indigo

Robert got his intestines cut and the bile went into the wound causing massive infection that even now is very difficult to treat.

As much as we all love Ned, Jaime wouldve won that fight if he wasn't interrupted. Not saying that Ned is a bad swordsman by any means, but Jaimes is just a lot better.
