Go in fresh but remember the haters have the loudest voices. However I will say 1 of my top 5 eps of the series is in S8. Enjoy the ride!

I am guessing it’s 8-2 but 3 and 4 of season 8 are so good too

I have a quick little theory about the hate as the seasons go by. Sure, the writing gets sloppy, the story deviates from the original materiel. Fine, whatever. You do that to keep the show interesting. My theory is about color balance. People enjoy the earlier seasons more, and like them less and less as time goes by, because in season 1 we are in a lovely summer, but winter is coming. And for the whole series, we watch as the warm colors turn cold, until all we have is cold. I'm not saying the last season was flawed, it was. Just maybe not as bad as everyone is so damn mad about. :)
