Looking forward to it! After some pretty heavy reactions. You deserve a lighter film 😊 A classic!

You certainly deserve a heartwarming movie like this after a gut wrenching heavy hitter like Hacksaw Ridge. This movie blends a beautiful love story with laugh out loud comedy really well. Billy Crystal as Miracle Max, although a small part, was brilliant. Not sure if you recognized Robin Wright (Princess Buttercup) from Forrest Gump (Jenny). The director of this movie, Rob Reiner, really hit his stride with this movie, and went on to direct other classics like When Harry Met Sally, Misery, A Few Good Men, and Sleepless in Seattle. This movie is a repeat watch for me at least once a year, and I never get tired of it. Can’t wait to see your reaction and hear your comments for this one. “Death cannot stop true love, it can only delay it for awhile”. One of my favorite quotes from the movie.

“Is that Lord Farquaad?” 😂😂😂 And you are correct…the name of Dread Pirate Robert’s ship is Revenge. That was a great connection with Inigo Montoya.

FYI, Wallace Shawn IS in fact in Star Trek, as the Grand Nagus in "Deep Space Nine".

Love that Billy Crystal role...and if i am not mistaken it is robin wright's first role... Also there is a version of deadpool where it was re released as pg-13 and less blood and in the beginning he kidnaps Fred savage, puts him in a bears jersey, and duct tapes him to a bed in a room that is decorated in this way and ryan reynolds as deadpool reads the movie to Fred periodically stopping the movie and talking to him about kissing scenes and stuff...it was a limited release but silly thought more people should know...long comment, sorry. Fun rewatch of this with u

I’m sure you know now since it’s been a while, but I wanted to talk about the book. The book's full title is, “The Princess Bride: S. Morgenstern’s Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure, The “Good Parts” Version.” Imagine the kid in the movie is William Goldman, the writer of the book/screenplay. He grows up and tries to reread The Princess Bride, and realizes it’s a very dry epic fantasy book and when his Grandpa read it to him, he was skipping large parts of the book and taking creative liberties throughout. So the book is written like it was an epic fantasy book written by “S. Morgenstern” and only abridged by William Goldman.

It's so easy to praise this movie. It gets so many things right, it's insane. But saying great things about this movie also feels a bit like saying that water is wet. "Oh! This water is just soooo wet!" And since every "not all dead" human adores this movie, it's all just preaching to the choir. The one detail that caught my attention, though, while rewatching it after years of playing vintage computer games, I noticed that the music score sounds EXACTLY like some computer game scores from the late 80s, and maybe even the early 90s. I wonder if any of the composers of game music intentionally mimicked the Princess Bride score, just to pay tribute. Hmmm. At the end, were you talking about Wallace Shawn? He has been in nearly everything for decades, but one of his most memorable roles was as the Grand Nagus Zek in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In that role, he had a head full of prosthetics, but his voice is always distinctive. He also, more recently, played a professor friend of Sheldon in Young Sheldon.
