I have been putting off watching this movie until one of my favorite reactors put it on their channel. And here we are. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Like you, I really don’t know what to expect, other than this movie appears to be a cross between Unstoppable and Dawn of the Dead. But I have a feeling I’m going to be pleasantly surprised. And judging by your face on the post, I’ll need to grab some tissues.

Oh my gosh! This movie totally destroyed me. Your post comment was on target…this was not what I was expecting at all. The hype and praise that it has gotten is so well deserved. It was so good! First of all, I thought it was so ironic that your daughter was singing outside your door shortly before Su-an started singing in the movie. And your face as your daughter was doing what kids do…priceless. I was crying and laughing at the same time. I completely agree with your assessment of the dad. While he wasn’t a complete jerk in the beginning, he was clearly going through life with blinders on and missing the big picture. His work was consuming him while his relationship with his daughter was slipping away. My guess is he would have eventually become the same guy that the COO was…and I think he saw what he was becoming when he finally looked him in the eye before they were exiled into the vestibule of the train. The dad’s character arc was beautifully developed, because I think this whole incident, including being bitten at the end, actually saved his life. Because before he let himself fall off the train, he finally realized how blessed he was to have been a dad, remembering the special moment when he first held his baby girl. The smile on his face at the end was the only time I remember him smiling like that. It’s ironic that for him to feel alive, he had to die. Your reaction to this movie is one of the most emotional I have experienced from any reactor. And you still manage to give insightful commentary in your outro. I can’t express enough how happy I am to have found your channel. Thank you.

Oh, and I read that the reason the dad’s employee, Kim, felt that the outbreak was their company’s fault is because the dad was the one that gave the order to buy out the biotech company who unintentionally developed the virus and saved that company from bankruptcy. If they had not bought out that biotech company, it would have most likely dissolved , and perhaps the outbreak would not have occurred.
