Im so glad you noticed the little Numa on Waxer and Boil's helmets! :)

Admiral Wullf Yularen eventually becomes head of the ISB, and has a small cameo in Andor:- He gave the post-Aldhani briefing and introduced the Public Order Resentencing Directive, which gave Cassian 6 years for a minor offense. Dedra briefs him about Axis but he's sceptical, until Major Partagaz backs her claims.

Michael Daw

And an even smaller cameo in A New Hope!

A very popular episode. Such intensity. My favorite part is when an injured, exhausted Obi-wan ignites his lightsaber for what he is convinced is the last time. Moments later, he is so happy to see beloved Ahsoka. The Waxer/Boil/Numa thing is so sweet.

When i introduced this show to my friend, we had a drinking game to go with it. One of the rules was drink any time a living being (non droid) dies on screen. Another was take 5 drinks anytime something happens that seems too dark for a kids show. This epsidoe Almost made us black out by itself

Wakandan King D

One of the single greatest animated episodes in TV history imo & easily the best start to any arc . Loved everything about this from the writing to the action to the cinematics

Wakandan King D

Loved you noticing Numa on their helmets shows how attached you've got with the clones

Yep, its an animation tour-de-force; and really showed off the early potential of the Clone Wars engine, they built from scratch just a few years earlier. And to see where its all led to now, with some of the newer media, is phenomenal.

Ziro the Hutt

He gets rescued by Oddball I believe too (I haven't rewatched the episode yet, but will be later), who we hear from at the start of Revenge of the Sith.

Michael Daw

“Good ol’ Oddball. Always on target.”

Oh now we are talking!! One of my favourite Clone Wars episodes! Funny you should mention Lord of the Rings, Teegan; more on that much later, though Plo Koon is performed like he is Gandalf, which is to be noted. Haha your look said it all, when good old Palps said about leaving the strategy to the Jedi. Oh what a pesky scallywag he is! This is a proper Battle of Geonosis, unlike what we saw in Attack of the Clones! A bit of backstory here; when the episode was storyboarded and previsualised in its rough form, before being composited and rendered; it was sent to Lucas to greenlight it, which always happened on the show, that he would look at them before giving the go-ahead. With this one, the animators thought they did an excellent job, but Lucas said, try again. He showed them some shots of old war movies and ideas he wanted to see implemented in the episode (something he did when trying to get A New Hope greenlit by Fox back in the day, using those old films, in place for his space battles, which obviously weren't made yet). The episode then got redone completely, blowing its original budget out of the water; yet Lucas was more than happy to pay out of his own money for this, as he really wanted an episode to show off what his new animation team were capable of. And they really delivered, it has the lot; great set-pieces, fierce battles, great effects and several tracking shots that would have been a hell of a lot of work to get right. Its one of Clone Wars early masterpieces imho, even if it is just one big battle. Its still absolutely mental to think about Ahsoka being involved in all this. She is coming along with her fighting skills, but still, its rather insane this young girl (and Barriss Offee with her in the next ep) is at the heart of this with Anakin. I do love her little dig towards Anakin about getting diverted to that fortress he said they weren't going to be anywhere near! She is not in the mood of him these two episodes, haha! Yes Waxer and Boil have Numa with them now in spirit during their fights; one of their reasons for fighting, is to fight for their little sister. The Geonosians are no joke. The weaponry they are able to come up with and make for the Separatists, is something else. Even their green guns, kind of turn, ones insides into gloop if hit; and are difficult for even Jedi to evade. And they came up with the design of the Death Star, lest we forget. They are a formidable enemy. Poor Rex indeed, he saves Anakin and Ahsoka here, and gets force-thrown into the air for his troubles!! Yeah I mentioned it in a previous episode, but Admiral Yularen becomes head of the ISB for the Empire, and is the white-haired guy we saw above Major Partigaz, in Andor. He is also on the Death Star in A New Hope; so hangs around with Vader and co, all the rest of his days. Great spot that it was the cat beast that Obi-Wan and particularly Padme, fought in Attack of the Clones; just a little easter egg. "Sharp eyes you have, young Padawan!" :P
