Oh yay. Can't wait to watch this one. Most of James Wan's films are great. Insidious is also a lot of fun.

Now we’re getting into some seriously creepy horror…YAY!!!

Ed Warren was a pedophile and a con artist. While I love the Conjuring movies, the fact that the movies casts these people in a positive light definitely brings up conflicting feelings.

So, as enjoyable as this movie is (and it is), it should be said that there is quite the stockpile of evidence that Ed and Lorraine Warren were major con-artists in real life, and that Ed Warren was a PDF file. And still...great movie. I guess, for me personally, I just wish the two weren't glorified as they are here. Maybe Fred and Yvaine Williams or something, or Ted and Jane Wilson. Also, actual witches have (had) nothing to do with Satan or demons. Historically speaking, they intermingled folklore, nature spirits, and ancient deities of magic into whatever was the most prominent religion of their community--usually Christianity (still a great movie).

This movie is ridiculous as far as being a movie about demonic possession. This is not how it works. I was very interested in your outro comments and the research you have done. If you are not familiar with them you should look up the writings and various podcasts and interviews of Father Chad Rippinger and Father Gabriel Amorth. They are two of the leading Exorcists of the Catholic Church and present information in a factual, non sensational manner. They are probably two of the most publicly available authorities on this subject and are well worth checking out. A lot of their material is readily available on YouTube. I would also recommend the book People of the Lie by the late M. Scott Peck. He was a Harvard trained Psychiatrist who became a Christian later in life and came to believe in the concept of evil after several patients he worked with and things he witnessed in his life and practice. Even after he became a Christian he was no apologist and his personal life would not be taught in any Sunday School class. Nevertheless he makes his case calmly, rationally and professionally. It is the only book I have ever felt the need to put down and quit reading once it got dark outside, not because of the fantasy horror portrayed in this movie but because of the cold dark truth presented.

The Hide and Clap game was unique to me, I've never heard of that until this movie. James Wan knows horror.

Yayyyy, some demonic stuff. Just what I need for my house right now. 😂😂😂

Don't go down this rabbit. The Conjuring 2 is decent, but the rest are trash.
