I LOVE OBI AND THIS EPISODE BROKE MY HEART!!!!!!

Mr Bunny

This story kind of shows why the council says that Anakin is too old to be trained (and also why Yoda says it about Luke in Empire Strikes Back). Most jedi are trained from a very young age, at a point where they haven't really formed much attachment, where as Anakin, being older, was already very attached to his mother, and has more difficulties with discipline and letting go than Obi-wan does. And it also shows that Obi-wan isn't void of emotions, he just has the discipline to put them aside to do what's expected of him as a jedi.

I have saved like hundreds of amazing Star Wars edits, some of them make me cry too 🫡

Never apologise for being emotional Teegan, I'm coming up to the big five O this year, and I get more emotional than ever when it comes to some films and series. No matter how many times I've seen Arcane for example, most of the episodes elicit the tears!! I do the same with this series and the other SW animations as well, a lot of the time, even if its only a subtle moment. Its healthy to have smiles and tears when consuming our favourite media; and I like to watch my fave reactors feel the same things I do when I watch along with them, rather than sit there gawping like statues! :D Haha Obi-Wan and Satine verbal sparring is a real joy, you can feel the sexual chemistry still bubbling not too far under the surface! Seeing how flustered both are with each other, shows how much they still care for each other. Her points about pacifism are similar to the lemur people in season 1, which is idealistic and morally just; but not practical during a galactic war. Now Mandalore can handle themselves better than the lemurs, and they have 1500 other worlds at their back; yet staying out of this mess, especially with malefactors behind the scenes looking to bring Satine down, will be a tricky affair, and Satine shouldn't be so blasé about it. Orn Free Taa stuffing his face again whilst his fellow Twi'leks are suffering in this war; that tells a story. His screaming as the mini droids are unleashed, is hilarious though! These assassin droids are a great design. Satine very much gives off Padme vibes, someone dedicated to peace, but can handle herself, she is great. I'd like to know where in the scheme of things did Senator Merrick fall under, in Mandalorian aristocracy. Obi-Wan mentions he was a prince, a rank higher than a Duke/Duchess; yet the Kryze family, of which Satine is the head, is the Royal Family (tbf she would also have been a princess as a child). Perhaps he is a prince from another clan, an old house that may have been in power before, and maybe he wanted to usurp Satine to take the throne for himself with the help of Death Watch. That seems plausible. Rex being a badass as always on that droid, he's so cool. Lol, Obi-Wan is strong in the force, but I don't think he'd resort to trying to pull someones arm off! Not very Jedi-like is it!! Anakin would have no hesitation however, especially since he kills Merrick by stabbing him in the back, he will always "do what needs to be done". Tbf I'm kind of with Merrick at the soap opera stuff between Satine and Obi-Wan where they declare their unrequited love for each other. However it does bring up a huge "what-if"; since Obi-Wan is fundamental to the story of this time and later as he helps bring down the Empire. Would Qui-Gon have still been around had Obi-Wan left the Jedi - the greatest Jedi of all... Would Anakin have been trained by him or someone else? Would it have made a difference with him (probably not)? All pertinent questions, and for Obi-Wan and Satine themselves, it ties into them putting duty first, ahead of their own feelings; two truly selfless people committed to trying to make the galaxy a better place. The show only gets better too! You are in for a hell of a ride yet Teegan!

This is one of the best episodes of the first 5 seasons

Wakandan King D

I mean he did basically say he loves her by saying he’d leave the order. It is a pretty heartbreaking story because of how good of both a person & Jedi Obi Wan is that he could never have personal attachments . Loved that they delve into the "bad" side of being a Jedi more in this series

Henry Bentel

The crying is part of the reason we watch

I LOVE how much you love and ship Obi and Satine. Tbf it's very well written and brilliantly animated

Commander Cody

One of the things I love about the show even though it's kind of tragic, is that it shows that Anakin is not unique for his feelings. Jedi struggle with the same things he does he just succumbed to those feelings and temptations which is exactly what the Jedi warn of. Most of the time in the prequel movies, they come across as emotionless idealists. It also shows that Anakin and Obi-Wan are more similar than you would think if you only watched the movies. I truly believe that if Anakin had confided in Obi-Wan about his relationship with Padme then Obi-Wan would have understood and helped in any way he could.

Ziro the Hutt

Obi-Wan knows there is something going on between Anakin and Padme, and we see in these episodes he has experienced these feelings and attachment, himself. He just doesn't think Padme and Anakin would be silly enough to get married however.

For a long time, this was my favorite episode. The only real change since then is that I love ALL episodes now 🤭. Many commenters have already laid it all out, so I'm just going to repeat my favorite quote: "This morsel may prove too much even for the legendary appetite of Orn Free Taa". 🤣 Oh except this: I just realized that the Kenobi/Satine leitmotif is introduced for the first time right before we hear the Vader theme (not to mention it closes out the episode). Beautiful.
