OMG! Another of the all time great horror movies. I think I will take an extended lunch break to watch this now.

"Is that tree house actually there?" 😆 I know exactly what show finale you watched right before this movie.

This is one of those movies (or shows like the Haunting of Hill House) that are fun to watch the first time. But get better on each re-watch. The amount of detail Ari Aster sprinkled throughout the film is astounding. You can enjoy the film without noticing the details, but the experience is enriched when you do. The lore used in the film is from "real" demonic sources like The Lesser Key of Solomon. The symbols, the goals, the rewards, the demon names and rituals are all from the original text. You spotted the flyer for the séance, but that was one way the cult wanted to start the ritual. When that didn't work, Joan appeared. I highly recommend many of the Hereditary deep-dives online. Too many details to list here.

This movie is AMAZING and honestly A24 makes awesome horror/psychological slow burn movies, but once the crazy shit starts its a crazy ride. They also do a great job at making you feel uncomfortable with what they show/tell you.

Charlie never cried? Well, yeah; Charlie was Paimon!

Leigh originally tried to turn her own son into Paimon but he hanged himself before she was finished. No wonder she wanted Peter when Annie first had him

Paimon was originally supposed to go into the grandmother's son, but he committed suicide before it could happen. The next in line was Peter, but his mom wouldn't let the grandmother close to him. Charlie was just the host that was available.

Mister Lou

Hereditary and all their "heads were scary!" Toni Collette is the ultimate movie mom.. gang way, Kate Segal!

Mojo

Hail Paimon!
